Organisation: Uganda Christian University (UCU)Uganda Christian University was founded when the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College was promoted as a university in 1997. Bishop Tucker Theological College trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono. Kenya: TRAINING ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINERS AND ESTABLISHING EMPLOYMENT ADVISORY SERVICES CENTER IN MOGADISHU

The project has a target of reaching 400 disadvantaged youth (40% females) through provision of employable skills training, linked with entrepreneurship training. The skills training are being conducted through EBTVET centers in Mogadishu. To enhance the graduates’ entry into self-employment, entrepreneurship will be taught. The entrepreneurship training is meant to train the trainees on how to generate business ideas, marketing, small business management, financial literacy, resource mobilization and business planning among others.

To improve on the employability of TVET graduates, it is important to avail information on employment opportunities and the emerging skills in the market. This can be done through an Employment Advisory Services (EAS) center to be set up in a TVET Center. The EAS center will train the graduates on “soft skills” which will emphasis on personal qualities, work habits and attitudes which make someone a good employee. The Center will also provide career guidance and counseling and give advice to youth and adult planning to venture in self-employment.

About this Job:

The Head of Training, HOT will report to the CEO and will provide leadership in area of training and capacity building. He/she will be responsible for:

Scope of Work – Monitoring & Evaluation Intern
 

To gain experience in how to work with M&E data, perform basic data analysis and how to review and produce reports for an International NGOReview M&E data and reports and prepare feedback on the data and reportsEnter all M&E data into spreadsheets and or databasesPrepare basic reports from the spreadsheets and databasesConduct alumni follow up and analyse alumni follow up data and produce reportsAny other duties that may be assignedBachelors Degree in Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences or its equivalentExperienced in conducting statistical analysis using statistical software (SPSS preferable).Experienced in preparing and formatting graphs and tables using MS Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).Proficient in written communications.The ability to work independently and take initiative.Willingness to learn and collaborate with others.Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Excellent oral and written English language skills.Experience living/working in a culturally diverse environment.(2) cover letter demonstrating qualification and interest for the position

Learning Objective
To gain experience in 

a) researching and acquiring new business for an International NGO, andb) in the administration of a small grants program.

Overall Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager, Grants and Business Development, the Grants and Business Development Intern shall play a support role in both the acquisition of new business at RATN and the management of RATN’s grant-giving programs.

Support RATN resource mobilization efforts by monitoring industry trends and developments that affect RATN’s strategic activities and conducting research on organizations that have the potential to provide financial or in-kind support to RATN;Populate and maintain database of fundraising targets;Provide administrative support for the development of fundraising proposals;Ensure that comprehensive documentation is maintained and filed for each of RATN’s grant projects;Other duties and special projects as assigned by the Supervisor.Diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing or its equivalent (candidates currently pursuing a degree will also be considered);Excellent research, data analysis/synthesis. Experience in organizing and disseminating business information;Highly computer literate, proficient in MS Office, spreadsheets and online research;Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in spoken and written English required;Demonstrated good judgment and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;Detail orientation, with an ability to operate in a highly organized fashion;Emotional maturity and a good sense of humor.(2) cover letter demonstrating qualification and interest for the position
