Description:We are pleased to announce that there is an out break of Jiggers in Uganda especially in Busoga region, our area of operation and we have launched the fight against the jiggers and we shall focus more in primary schools where the children are more vulnerable to Jiggers. We have set up a team of our health educators, counselors move to different primary schools in Busede Sub County to educate and treat those who have been affected and infected by the disease. Then the community prescribes remedial measures to be carried out in schools before their children can die.
We therefore require health educators and researchers to come down here to carry out a conclusive research on the real cause for the out break of jiggers and this research will be submitted to the concerned authorities. It will teach the young people and children not only to safe guard them selves against the jiggers and but also to have a better health.

Detailed Job description

Analyzing operational and management processes and system controls’ effectiveness and efficiency in view to improve them. Providing assurance of proper operations and processes to conform to Nkumba University policies and procedures as laid down in the University Financial regulations. Participate in the development of new information systems to ensure that efficient and effective controls are incorporated, among others.

Experience and Professional Qualifications:

The Interested applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting option), as well as a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA and CIA; with at least 3 years relevant working experience in a reputable institution. Age: 35 years and above.

Initiate and maintain internal audit and control systems for effective utilization of Council resources. To support the development and maintenance of risk management strategy of the University. Assist in preparation of the periodic reports to the Audit Committee. Ensuring compliance to the financial, procurement, administrative and Human Resource policies and procedures. Conducting ad hoc and special internal audit of systems and financial transactions. Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the Internal Auditor and Management, among others.

Experience and Professional Qualifications:

Should be a holder of a Bachelors degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting option), Should possess professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA and CIA, Should have at least 2 years relevant working experience in a reputable institution, Age: 30 years and above.

Other related skills

good exposure to pensions or investment related organization will be an added advantage.

• Minimum of 8 years experience at management level 5 years of which should be at Senior management level in a large financial services or related organization of international repute.

• Familiarity with the current global and local regulatory environment for investment funds as well as a
demonstrated ability to keep on top of developments in the pensions sector globally.

• He must be an effective communicator with excellent leadership and management skills. He must be
results-oriented with strong business development sense and the ability to interact with clients, senior
management and staff. He must be a creative problem-solver with the ability to build and manage
teams, delegate authority and develop employee talents.

The Institute is mandated to conduct applied and adaptive agricultural research in mid-western agro-ecological zone of Uganda under the policy guidance of National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO). The Director of Research, Bulindi ZARDI invites suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following positions at the Institute located in Hoima District.

Animal Production Technician (1 post) -

Salary Scale UR 6
Reports to Animal Health Scientist

Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Collect and prepare laboratory samples for analysis of specimens and samples such as of spleen, brain, blood serum, heart, liver, lung, mucus, pus, urine, faeces, blood, milk and other animal fluids and tissues for isolation, analysis and labelling
b. Conducting standardized microbiological and biochemical tests and laboratory analyses to diagnose diseases and evaluate the quantity or quality of physical or chemical substances in animals and other products.
c. Attends to livestock and undertake activities such as spraying, vaccinations, deworming, dehorning, castration, tagging, insemination, diagnosis and treatment, weighing, milking and general maintenance of the paddock.
d. Prepares animal feeds and ensure right quality and quantity of feed is given to animals
e. Any other duty as a signed to by immediate supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:
a. Diploma/Higher National Diploma in Animal Production from recognized Institution .Possession of Bachelors degree will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities
a. Preparing and maintaining laboratory materials, setting-up, adjusting, calibrating, cleaning, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory and fi eld equipment
b. Visiting farmers to identify soil fertility problems and indigenous traditional knowledge used to manage the problems in targeted areas
c. Collecting and analyzing soil specimens and plant samples
d. Monitor and observe experiments, collect and analyze data, recording production and test data for evaluation as well as preparing reports of results
e. Collect meteorological information and data covering weather parameters such as rain, temperature, humidity, moisture, solar radiation, evaporation, wind-peed and direction etc. Other related tasks include analysis of meteorological data to establish weather patterns.

5. Develop and implement policies and policies and procedures for computer systems operations
6. Perform regular back up of BuZARDI Data bases and information ensuring that back up and recovery Procedures and plan are in Place.

Minimum Qualification:

Motor-Vehicle Driver (1Post)
Salary Scale UR 7

Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Undertaking routine and preventive maintenance of motor vehicle by checking and topping-up the level of petrol, oil, water, battery electrodes and tyre pressure before operating the vehicle.

b. Regularly cleaning and polishing the vehicle, changing tyres as well as making minor repairs or adjustments.
c. Driving motor vehicle (car and van) to transport directors, staff, clients and others to designated locations.

Post Title: HIV/AIDS Partnerships Specialist (with special focus on private sector engagement)

Purpose of the post:
Under the guidance of the Chief, HIV and AIDS, the Partnerships Specialist is responsible for management of partnerships at national level. This will be done through both leveraging of resources at national level and partnerships at district level (both local government and NGOs). The Specialist will cover the full planning cycle going from identification of partners, planning, co-ordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The Partnership Specialist will support a wide range of interventions and partnerships with specific focus on private sector engagement.

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:
• Advance university degree in social sciences or related field;
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in working with private sector and partnerships;
• Knowledge of the latest developments and technology in related fields;
• Analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills;
• Fluency in English. Knowledge of another UN working language an asset;
• Computer skills. Proficiency in specific programme budget management software is an asset;

Reporting to Senior Inspector, the Inspector will be responsible for the following duties; Undertake planning and operation of UNBS Quality Assurance Programmes of Inspection, quality promotion and development; carry out inspections for quality conformity within UNBS mandate; assist in the establishing
and implementing a system for routine sampling and testing of customer site products; provide training and advisory services to relevant stakeholders; prepare regular reports and updates on inspection activities and programmes; liaise with stakeholders on matters related to standards implementation
and enforcement and perform any other duties assigned from time to time by the supervising offi cer.

Qualifications and other requirements

• A good University Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food science, Food Technology, Engineering or any

3. Analyst (2 Positions) for (Electrical, & Micro biology) (Salary Scale 6)
Reporting to the Head of the Laboratory; the successful candidate shall be required to perform the following duties; provide an environment necessary to analyse samples accurately, quickly, and at a low cost through proper planning, careful spending of budget, and promotion of good staff relations; prepare sampling plans and carry out inspections; spend sometime every day at the bench with technicians performing the tests in the respective laboratories; evaluate analytical information and submits it to higher authorities for approval; ensure the availability of supplies, ensure safety procedures, maintenance of good Laboratory practices and suggesting to the authorities the disciplinary measures
required for effi cient functioning of the laboratory; initiate or recommend corrective actions for improvement, as may be necessary; undertake quality control activities/system of the laboratories to conform to the authorized policies, procedures, and sound laboratory practice.

Qualifications and other requirements:

• The successful candidates shall have a good University degree in the relevant fi elds of Electrical Engineering (for Electrical post) and Food Science (for Microbiology post) or Biological Sciences from a recognized institution

4. Legal Metrologist (4 Posts) (Salary Scale UNBS 6)
Reporting to the Heads of Section, the Legal Metrologist will be responsible for assisting in development of policy, procedures and other guidelines for the execution of legal metrology; onitor continuously application of policy, procedures and other guidelines so as to identify and recommend what needs to be improved; carry out sensitization for traders and general members of the public on matters of weights and measures; compile and submit annual, monthly and weekly work plans to the Manager, Legal Metrology; check validity of the weights, and to ascertain that the instruments/equipment read accurate values and are not in whatever way, falsifi ed; conduct as scheduled, inspections in shops and other places of commerce so as to ascertain that the pre-packages goods being sold are packed in accurate values; and perform any other duties assigned from time to time by the supervising offi cer.

• A good University Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Physics from a recognized University/Institution

Reporting to Imports Inspector, the Assistant Imports Inspectors will be responsible for Implementing UNBS Quality Assurance Programmes concerned with inspection, market surveillance, and quality promotion and development; undertake shipment inspection of imports/exports for quality conformity within UNBS mandate; Provide technical advisory and training services to the manufacturing industry; Prepare and regularly update guides and reference materials required for training, inspection, sampling and related materials; Prepare reports and maintain records of inspection and other quality assurance activities; Undertake any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications and other requirements
• The successful candidates shall have a Ordinary Diploma in Food Science, Mechanical Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, or Chemistry as the case may be
• Possession of a Higher Diploma in any of the relevant fi eld is an added advantage

6. Technicians- Microbiology and Chemistry (2 Posts) (Salary Scale UNBS 7
Reporting to the Head of Chemistry Laboratory or Micro Biology or Electrical as the case may be. The successful candidate shall be required to perform the following duties; prepare reagents and microbiological culture media; maintain adequate sterile glassware and sampling tools for daily use;
receive samples for analysis and appropriate storage where necessary; maintain equipment in operating conditions and service checks; collect samples from the industries and other relevant sources (sampling);perform tests and maintain detailed records of all analysis; supervise house keeping of the

Reports to the Human Resource Manager, and performs the following duties and responsibilities:-Identify individual and organizational training needs through job analysis, staff appraisals and regular consultations with supervisors and Heads of Departments ; oversee the Training and Development
activities of the Bureau; Investigate what training is available from Government agencies, ministries and donor agencies and maintain a data base of training providers; Design training courses and programmes necessary to meet training needs, or manage this activity via external provider (s);Develop a draft training policy for approval by the HR Manager; Prepare an annual training plan and budget for each Department and for the overall organization in consultation with Heads of Departments and the HR Manager; Design training courses and all training material; Review training courses prepared by

The Uganda Road Fund (URF) was established by Act of Parliament – the Uganda Road Fund Act 2008,
with the mandate to finance the routine and periodic maintenance of public roads in Uganda. The Uganda Road Fund Board is responsible for overseeing the performance of the Fund, while the day to day
business of the Fund is carried out by a Secretariat headed by an Executive Director.

The Secretariat commenced operations in January 2010 and has since disbursed Road Maintenance
Funds to UNRA and Local Governments collectively known as designated agencies. The Board now seeks
to recruit the Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation and accordingly invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position.

The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director and join the Fund Management Team
to guide the Secretariat through its development processes, and ensuring it effi ciently and effectively
carries out its functions. The Fund Management Team drives the strategic direction and output quality
of the Secretariat through clear business planning and robust management frameworks. It also takes lead in development of policies, procedures, strategies and plans for the Fund. The team provides effective leadership to the Secretariat staff by guiding them and promoting the organisation’s mission and values, providing technical leadership, enhancing strategic capability and providing service excellence in the respective disciplines.

The Manager, M&E will be responsible for developing, maintaining and operating an ongoing monitoring and  evaluation programme addressing the performance of designated agencies supported by the Fund. This shall include managing the monitoring and evaluation function, developing a work program for M&E team and managing workloads and work streams to ensure the program is delivered according to plan with value addition, developing key performance monitoring indicators(KPIs) for designated agencies and the Secretariat, mapping M&E results into organisational objectives and goals ; ensuring compliance with
all internal policies and procedures and relevant legislative provisions; producing M&E reports on
specifi c issues from time to time in the respective projected workplans for each quarter ; design and
implement studies, surveys, mid-term and annual reviews and propose improvements to the procedures
and principles used in M&E programs; monitor laws and other sector provisions to ensure compliance with
all applicable requirements, develop and implement applicable research and training programs .

Applicants must possess:
a) First degree in civil engineering from a recognized University/or institution;
b) Postgraduate qualifi cation in project management with monitoring and evaluation will
be an added advantage ;
c) At least 10 years work experience in road projects in Uganda.
d) Chartered or registered status with appropriate internationally recognized institution;
e) Proven strategic thinking capability and management experience at senior level with strategic focus in a large and complex
organization with multiple revenue streams;
f) Ability to rise above details, to summarize overall patterns, assess value and trends;
g) Experience in leading and motivating staff including developing staff potential, encouraging
ownership and providing for two way communication;
h) Experience in effective business planning:
delegation, managing workloads and work streams, budgeting and monitoring costs, and
ensuring compliance;
i) Experience in monitoring and evaluating road sector programmes and in methods used to
determine Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and priorities with an understanding of the
principles of road management, will be an added advantage;
j) Understanding of effective information delivery techniques including education, marketing and
communications;
k) Experience in building and fostering relationships;
l) Age limit- Not more than 50 years.

Job Objective
Reporting to the Project Officer, the Project Assistant will be responsible for coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the DAN1DA Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) Project in Kitgurn and Gulu Districts with overall technical support from the Project Officer.

The Uganda Road Fund (URF) was established by Act of Parliament – the Uganda Road Fund Act 2008,
