Job Summary:  The Marketing Manager/ Business Development

Manager is responsible for all business development activities by researching

and developing marketing opportunities and plans; implementing sales plans; and

supervising regional managers.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Accomplish

    marketing targets by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching,

    counseling, sales team communicating job expectations; planning,

    monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and

    reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures for the

    marketing department.

  • Achieve

    marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and

    sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews;

    preparing and completing action plans.

  • Implement

    production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards;

    resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining

    system improvements; implementing change.

  • Meet

    marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements;

    preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances;

    initiating corrective actions.

  • Determine

    annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales

    quotas for regions; projecting expected sales volume and profit for

    existing and new products; analyzing trends and results to establish

    pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs,

    competition, supply, and demand.

  • Accomplish

    marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and

    evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs,

    developing field sales action plans.

  • Identify

    marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining

    market, competitor’s share, and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses;

    forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.

  • Improve

    product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and

    capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product packaging;

    coordinating new product development.

  • Sustain

    rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific

    needs; anticipating new opportunities to the respective depots .

  • Provide

    information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

  • Ensure

    good retention strategy for the existing clientele.

  • Clientele

    growth and retention as per the overall target through relationship

    management & direct sales bearing in mind the KYC standards.

  • Ensure

    compliance to internal control as per operational guidelines to

    avoid/minimize loss of revenue and prevention of frauds and forgeries.

  • Conduct

    competitors-on market intelligence, closer understanding of their

    competitive activities

  • Potential

    customers whose view of business must be assessed and taken into account

    when making a business proposal.

  • Perform

    any other duties assigned to you by the manager from time to time


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The

    applicant should hold BBA- marketing or any other business related course

    with a major in marketing and chartered qualifications are added advantage

  • A

    minimum of five or more years’ experience in a busy organization in the

    same industry
