About IAQUBE Project:
Plan Uganda has received funding from Plan UK to implement a school improvement project in 4 targeted schools in Lira District. The project aims at bridging the gaps in Education by Improving access and quality basic education in Lira through improving a conducive teaching and learning environment for boys and girls.
Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator will be implementing the project that aims at addressing gaps in education by improving access and quality of basic education in Lira. She/he will ensure quality of implementation by involving key stakeholders, planning, monitoring, documenting and reporting on project outcomes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·Ensure timely implementation and delivery of the project interventions against the approved project plans;
·The Project Coordinator will also ensure that, the project deliverables are of acceptable quality, and in line with the Project document;
·Intuitively manage the project budget, project related costs/utilisation and its related Risks in order to realise the project goals and objectives;
·Ensure timely and effective planning, and implementation of the specific project plans in line with donor requirements, standards and approved project documents;
·Responsible for ensuring quality and timely compilation and submission of donor reports (narrative and financial) to Country office for review and onward submission to the donors;
·Effect the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research (MER) plans and strategies, while ensuring dissemination, integration & adoption of key corrective measures, learnings and best practices;
·Offer technical Support to the PUM in planning and reporting; development and operationalization of the district specific annual and quarterly plans, project document outlines, annual and quarterly reports and other relevant undertakings as and when delegated by the line manager;
·Foster and grow sustainable partnership, collaboration, networking and ensure adequate on-going engagement with key stake holders, while representing Plan and its interest in the District
·Education and other relevant fora, including delegated meetings, trainings and present timely updates and feedback to the line manager; and
·Ensure Plan’s Child Protection Policy and Guidelines are adhered to in project implementation
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·The candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor degree, preferably in Education, with a strong Community Development Work experience
·The candidate must have experience in education and community development, implementing participatory approaches in formal and non-formal settings.
·Excellent track record of at least five years working experience in Community Development work using participatory approaches and governance structures, with a focus on any of these areas; working with children, school construction/ rehabilitation, capacity building of various school based groups, gender or Life skills)
·Significant experience in managing / handling grants
·Local Knowledge and understanding of development education aims, methodologies and context of Lira district
·Good working knowledge in computer skills of word, excel 2010,PowerPoint and internet
·Fluent in English and Luo language
·Strong documentation and reporting skills
·Ability to ride a motorcycle
