Key responsibilities of the junior accounts officer include

•    Correct and complete processing of financial transactions.

•    Assist in preparing reports.

•    Properly filing of all documentation.

The officer reports to the Admin Manager of SolarNow.

Qualifications

•    Degree in Business Administration.

•    2 years of relevant work experience in a commercial environment.

•    Accounting qualification (or in training) is a pre.

•    Can work in an organized and structured manner.

•    Hands-on approach with good people skills and dynamic team player.

•    Positive and self-motivated attitude with passion for the company’s goals.

Other

•    The position is based in our HQ in Kansanga (Kampala) but will also require regular travel up country to visit clients and franchise locations

Junior Analyst ( FULL TIME )

About this Job:

JOB OVERVIEW
The post holder will contribute to Development Initiatives’ (Dl) growing team of analysts in its regional East Africa programme, and will play an important role in our work with governments, multilateral organisations, agencies and NGOs.

The post holder will be a junior member of the analytical team but’ with strong statistical and spreadsheet skills and good understanding of the principles of -economics. This particular post will be located in Kampala, Uganda and will be an important contributor to a range of our programmes of work in the Africa region and globally, including: the East African programme, the Better Data Better Aid programme, detailed analysis of financial flows and capacity building activities under the aidinfo programme, contribution to the DATA report, as well as statistical advice to bilateral and multilateral donors under Dl’s Global Humanitarian Assistance programme. The successful candidate will specifically:
• Gather and evaluate data
• Conduct analysis and interpretation of data
• Contribute to the written and/or graphic presentation of data
• Be part of a team that communicates key messages from analysis to key stakeholders

CONTRACTUAL DETAILS
Start date: July 2012
Locations: Kampala, Uganda
Nairobi, Kenya
Remuneration: Approximately Shs.3,000,000 per month (gross)
Holiday: 25 days plus bank and public holidays
Hours: 35 hours a week – 9am to 5pm
Contract: Fixed term to December 2012
Probation: 3 months

Requirement:

PERSON SPECIFICATION Education/Training • A minimum 2.1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Mathematics or social science subject (with quantitative training) • Post graduate degree or diploma in any of the above fields (preferred) • Minimum of 6 months work experience in a related field Knowledge/Technical Skills • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is absolutely essential • Highly numerate with an aptitude for analysing numerical data • Quantitative skills for analysis • Proven research skills using a combination of both the internet and desk-based research • Creative writing/presentation style with the ability to” convert numerical data and research into a meaningful format • Excellent written and spoken English essential • Additional language skills would toe an advantage • • A ‘practical’ rather than ‘theoretical’ understanding of the international development sector gained through either voluntary work or paid employment • An interest in development policy • Knowledge of the development landscape in East Africa Personal Skills • Be able to work under pressure and deal with multiple assignments • Confident with clear communication skills • Have a friendly manner and the will to be persistent and see any task through to completion • Creative and able to question the validity of information and offer up ideas and solutions • Have the ability to work independently as required, but also as part of a team • Willingness and ability to travel is essential.

Junior Education specialist

Global objective

Contribute to developing and strengthening the capacity of the Government of Greenland to plan, monitor and supervise education provision, including the capacity to provide more closely to the needs of potential students in order to reduce the number of students not finishing their education/training programmes.

Specific objectives

To assist the Government of Greenland in: 

To establish a more accurate and coherent measurement for the “drop out” indicator as currently used in the monitoring of the Greenland Education Programme including a re-establishment of the baseline. And establish a quantitative, statistics based overview on the drop outs, i.e. from which institutions, when during the length of the education (do they drop out early or late during their educations).To establish a way to follow the individual students statistically and thus being able to track their way through the educational system, i.e. how long they attend a given education, if they drop out, if they repeat, and so forth, by use of existing data sources.Masters level, Education sciences or equivalent

Required:

At least 3 years of relevant work experience of the education sector.Experience in statistical analysis of data related to the education sectorDemonstrated experience in working with Student tracking systems in the education sector or vocational training.

Added advantage:

Specific experience of working inGreenlandPrevious experience of working with European Commission aid procedures including on general or sector budget support

Required:

A high level of written and spoken English. The working language of this assignment will be English.Working knowledge of DanishAdded advantage

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Drilling Supervisor, the candidate will supervise drilling and well operations in the field.

Main job responsibilities:

Implement TOTAL HSE policy on site.Follow-up the drilling contractor implementation of its HSE policy on site.Execution of drilling and well operations as detailed in the well program.He shall especially supervise and co-ordinate drilling operations during the night shift.Prepare and verify the operating condition of all drilling equipment required to deliver the well objectives.Coordinate and supervises the operations of all service companies and the drilling contractor.Prepare the daily drilling and well operations report.Report all anomalies to the Senior Drilling Supervisor and follow-up corrective measures.

Experience

Practical experience in the field of drilling activities.

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor degree in a technical discipline (mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, etc.)

Skills

Good communication skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
