DISCRIPTION OF SERVICE

Supervises and coordinates drilling operations and manage drilling personnel on site.In charge for the execution of all operations in the well as per the drilling program. Prepares and checks all drilling equipment. Coordinates and supervises the operations of all service companies and drilling contractor. Prepares and issues the Daily drilling report. Reports all operations to the Drilling Superintendent.Guarantees the safe execution of agreed drilling programmed activities on time at the well site, in compliance with codes of practices, all while optimizing and improving costs and lead times. ,Provide troubleshooting support to base drilling teams during execution activities.Lead and supervise multi disciplined specialist teams in the on-site execution of drilling/completion and well testing activities to deliver maximum value whilst maintaining HSE standards. Potentially have to undertake front-line activities.Participate in and share best practices ensuring lateral learning across our CLIENT.Ensure the suitability to operational requirements of personnel, equipment and services.On site functional responsibility: of 70 to 85 persons.

ACTIVITIES:

Health, Safety & Environment

Responsible for Safety and Environment on Site (RSES). Supervises the application of the Safety and Environment instructions and procedures (including FP referential and affiliate HSE Management System, by all people on site. Ensure that the working conditions are safe prior to start any work, maintain them at all time with minimal risk of personal harm and adverse impact to the environment. Holds pre-job and weekly meeting and conducts safety inspections. Organizes the HSE reporting in compliance with the affiliate instructions.Have full autorithy on site in matter of safety. Liaise with Base/camp RSES.Provide exemplary HS&E Leadership in support of all drilling/completion and well testing activities under area of responsibility.Supervise QHSE audits at well site and contractor’s support bases with Drilling and Completion Operations Safety Leader (OSL) and RSSA (Rig Site Safety Advisor).Ensure that all assigned drilling/completion and well testing staff and contractors satisfy their duty of obligations set out in the HSE CLIENT’s Company Rule Plans. with the help of RSSAEnsure all well work programs are executed safely, and that all major risks have been identified and mitigated with the help of JRA (Job Risk Analysis)Ensure all incidents, accidents and near misses are correctly reported and are investigated appropriately where necessary. Contractors Follow up.

Operations

Supervise drilling contractor and services companies specialist in the execution of drilling activities to deliver maximum value.Ensure drilling work programs are executed safely and efficiently and that all company policies and procedures are fully adhered to.Provide base support and real-time advice to resolve technical and operational problems when required. Apply and follow CLIENT’s Rules.Drive performance improvements by the implementation of CLIENT tools and techniques across all drilling and completion and well testing activities.Ensure deviations from execution programs are only conducted with the appropriate level of technical authorization.Ensure all lessons learned from execution of drilling activities are captured and shared for optimization purposes.Integrate and liaise with other disciplines to ensure efficient and effective execution of drilling programs.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT:

Rotation 4 x 4 pattern at the wells site .Full availability while on site.Work in mixed cultural teams, sometimes with language challenges.Although the work is primarily at the well / location site, sometime may be required in the office undertaking operations planning / preparation and EOWR.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Demonstrate a high level of leadership in HSE.Implement the drilling programs.Perform safely and optimize field execution of the drilling/completion and well testing operations in compliance with CLIENT policies and Company Rules and Uganda legislative requirements. Active management of service providers & contractors at the well site.Commitment to well planning and learning process through input into drilling procedures, forward programs and active participation in CLIENT’s continuous improvement processes.Management and control of operational costs.Incident reporting and investigation as appropriate.Report daily operations and safety/environment performance.

QUALIFICATION AND BACKGROUND:

A Bachelor or Masters level of university degree.Fluent in written and spoken English.Computer literacy and fluency is a must, along with knowledge of the relevant software to carry out this role.A valid IWCF (supervisor level) certificate is essential.Proven 10 years experience in drilling & completion operations including previous well site supervisory experience in onshore or offshore locations..Ability to work effectively with others, demonstrate forward looking problem solving skills and capacity to operate autonomously and adaptation to operational changes. Strong interpersonal, good analytical, influencing and communication skills, demonstrated by an ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and enthusiasm are important.Need to be able to work independently and proactively.Leading by example, able to be hands-on when required, but also able to delegate and co-ordinate effectively.Ability to communicate with authority and motivate others in sometimes difficult work conditions.Demonstrate strong and effective Health-Safety-Security and Environmental (HSS/E) leadership.
