Accountants Assistant & Area Manager

Preferred Skills: The organization currently works in partnership with Caritas Denmark, to empower communities in Eastern Uganda move from the state of subsistence individual farming, to organized groups/associations that are able to engage in specialized production alongside influencing policy change for increased sustainable production and market access. EADEN is inviting applications from suitable qualified Ugandans to fill the following positions:Job title: Area Manager (1position)Reports to: Executive DirectorPurpose: To plan, direct and implement the Tororo area activities while ensuring effective functioning of the organisation’s operations and systems• S/he is the head and accounting officer for the area office• Implementation of community development activities especially in agricultural practices• Conduct community mobilisation and sensitisation activities to ensure adequate community participation in programme activities• Coordinate and ensure timely implementation of sustainable programme activities• Assist the community in participatory community development processes and drawing of village development activity plans• Write and submit monthly reports to the Executive Director and other stakeholders• Contribute to fundraising and donor reporting• Developing strategies for improving community development activities mostly in agriculture• Leading and supervising the area team while ensuring effective community participation and outreach• Any other duties that may be assigned Minimum Qualifications• Degree in Social sciences, development studies or agriculture• 3 years working experience in livelihood programs• 2 years management experience• 3 years experience in managing donor funded projects• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel and Outlook• Ability to work in a multi-cultural society/ community• Good attitude towards community work• Concern for standards alongside problem solving, Strong organizational and communication skills.• Strategic thinking, Results orientation, Concern for impact• Relationship building, planning & organisation, Management/administrative, interpersonal skills • Experience in fundraising and donor reporting• Training and experience in project planning and managementJob Title: Accountants Assistant1. Keeping the books of accounts and production of timely financial reports.2. Maintaining a sound internal financial system.• To receive and process all invoices, expense forms and requests for payment.• Verify calculations and input codes in to the Accounts system in an accurate manner.• To maintain and reconcile the Direct Debit mandates.• To deal with daily transactions for the petty cash and ensure that reconciliations are completed on a weekly basis.• To ensure all filing is done in a timely and accurate manner for all financial transactions.• Prepare cheques for payment.• To ensure that all transactions are posted daily.• Developing and maintaining sound financial forecasting and budgeting cash flow management and proper accountability to all stakeholders.• To closely monitor the effective and efficient utilization of funds allocated to the programme so as to ensure efficiency, accountability and value for money.• To prepare and present in timely manner the annual, quarterly, monthly financial statements and budget estimates in accordance with the guidelines and• Should pay strict observance to donor agencies financial guidelines and regulations.• Uphold, safeguard and upgrade existing internal control systems.• Assist in entering financial data into the financial accounting system for the organization• Any other duties within organisation context as may be assigned • A diploma in Accounting/UDBS from a• 2 Years Related work experience.• Strong organizational and communication skills.• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel and Outlook.• Excellent oral and written communication• Good analytical skills, ability to work underpressure and meet strict deadlines.• Ability to perform accurately and methodicallyfollowing published procedures.• Ability to work in a team, Good organisation• Excellent attention to detail.• Experience with donor funded projectInterested competent candidates should submita cover letter with copies of relevant academicdocuments not latter than Tuesday 9th AugustApplications should be sent to the addressThey should be hand delivered to plot 24 LubasRoad (Off Kaliro Road), Iganga or sent by email to eadenuganda@gmail.com
