Kyambogo University is the second largest

Public University in Uganda. Since its formation in 2003, the University

has established itself as one of the leading Universities in Uganda

offering a number of academic programmes in line with vocational education,

teacher training, hands-on engineering, special needs training, social

sciences, pure and applied sciences, entrepreneurship and management that

meet the Market remands and development needs of the Country. The Strategic

Focus Areas of the University include: Teaching Learning; Research,

Innovation and Knowledge Generation; Physical Infrastructure, Facilities

and ICT Development; Institutional Development and Strategic Marketing.


Key Duties and

Responsibilities: 

  • The Secretary will be in charge

    of receiving and disseminating correspondences, mails and other

    information for the office.

  • Receive and guide clients to the

    relevant offices.

  • The incumbent will locate and

    attach appropriate files to correspondences to Head of the Department.

  • Cordially attend to telephone

    calls and give appropriate responses or direct the calls to relevant

    recipients.

  • In charge of the requisition and

    manage office stationary and imprest.

  • Type all work related to the

    Department.

  • Receive and file all

    correspondences to the departmental office.

  • Mentor, supervise and appraise

    Office Attendants.

  • Perform any other official duties

    as may be assigned by the Head of Department


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 

  • The ideal candidates for the Secretary

    jobs must hold a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or equivalent

    qualifications from a recognized awarding institution

  • A minimum of two years of related

    work experience in software and hardware installation,

    troubleshooting, remote diagnostics and automatic test equipment.

  • Excellent communication and

    interpersonal skills.

  • High degree of integrity.

  • Computer literacy skills


All suitably qualified and interested
