Electrical and Mechanical fields whose main objectives are to pool our vast

professional experience together to render professional services in civil,

Mechanical and Electrical Engineering fields specialising in Design,

Construction, Installation and Maintenance services, and later, to extend into

manufacturing sector.


Job

Summary:
The Construction Manager will be in charge of the oversight of all

aspects of multiple contracts, including production, planning, costing and

commercial aspects. The Construction Manager is responsible for more than one

contract (on average around $ 15 Million and higher of combined contract

value). The position is based at Head Office with frequent travel to Project

Work Sites.


Key

Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Manage, control, motivate & discipline of the

Site Agents, Site Engineers and Foremen in one’s Area;


·        
Control and discipline of Sub-contractors working

in their Area;


·        
The incumbent will develop a deep understanding of

all Sub-contractor’s Scope of Work and control their activities on site in

accordance with the Programme and correct sequence;


·        
Responsible for the interpretation of the

Construction Programme & timely translation into labour, plant &

material resources;


·        
Setting up and monitoring the quality assurance process

for supervised projects.


·        
Studying drawings & details – ensuring the

accuracy of work carried out and querying unclear or missing information with

the responsible consultant; and initiating any changes to specifications and

project schedules.


·        
Attend site meetings and ensure timely requests

for Long Lead information;


·        
Work closely with Municipality for inspections and

notify the responsible consultant if construction details differ substantially

from approved Building Permit details;


·        
Work closely with the representative engineer and

architect on issues of quality conformation;


·        
Ensure project conformance to quality checks;


·        
Ensure formwork design, cycle planning, ordering

and control of materials;


·        
Accuracy of setting out – liaise with site agents

to ensure proper controls established for accurate setting out;


·        
Reinforcing and co-ordination of sub-contractor and

timely material orders.


·        
Accountable for Health, Safety, Security and

Environmental performance for the supervised projects.


Qualifications,

Skills and Experience: 


·        
The Construction Manager must hold a Bachelor’s

Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Possession of a post graduate training is desirable.


·        
The applicant must be a registered Engineer with

UIPE.


·        
A minimum of eight or more years’ experience in

the construction industry of which at least 3 have been at Site Agent Level on

busy project sites


·        
The applicant should have supervised various

projects totalling to $10million in the last two years.


·        
Good leadership and management skills


·        
Skills in financial management;


·        
Good public relations skills


·        
Excellent verbal and written communication skills


·        
Good negotiation skills and ability


·        
Ability to strategically think


·        
Excellent analytical skills


·        
Quality Assurance knowledge and skills
