of Uganda (NOGAMU)

The National Organic Agricultural
Movement of Uganda (NOGAMU) is the membership apex organization that unites the
producers, processors, exporter, NGOs and Business Support organizations
involved in the Organic Sector in Uganda. NOGAMU is responsible for promotion
of Organic Agriculture in Uganda under the areas of: Market development,
Training, Research& Extension, Standards and Certification and Advocacy.
Key Duties
and Responsibilities:
·
The
incumbent will identify NOGAMU member groups and companies with organic
products for export
·
Work
closely with producers and exporters in product development, quality assurance
and packaging improvement
·
Supervise
and oversee the preparation of marketing information in the NOGAMU Bulletin
·
Supervise
and oversee the activities of the Organic Trade Point (OTP) and ensure that
stakeholders make use of the OTP services
·
Oversee
the set up and maintenance of a marketing database highlighting level of
organic production and marketing in Uganda.
·
Work
in liaison with NOGAMU programmes committee, exporters and other agencies like
Uganda Investment Authority and Uganda Export Promotions Board in the increase
of organic exports from Uganda Organize and manage NOGAMU and other member
participation in International Trade fairs
·
Identify
possible new markets and manage associated training needs
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·
The Senior
Marketing Officer should be a Ugandan who holds a University Degree in
Agriculture, Marketing, Business Administration or Economics.
·
Possession
of a masters’ degree in a related field will be an added advantage
·
A
minimum of two years’ experience in a marketing position with knowledge and
experience in working with resource poor smallholder farmers.
·
Computer
literacy i.e. working knowledge of computers and relevant software applications
·
Working
knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures Information management
skills Excellent communication skills
·
Excellent
interpersonal relations
·
Customer
service orientation
·
Excellent
organizational and planning skills
·
Age: Between 25-34 years
