government and commercial clients by providing innovative solutions focused on agriculture

and economic growth, water infrastructure, environment and natural resources,

land tenure and property rights, democracy and governance, climate change adaptation,

gender and youth inclusion, and energy. Tetra Tech implements several

development programs, including the USAID Uganda Feed the Future Agricultural

Inputs Activity.


Job

Summary:
The Business Growth Specialist will render support in a broad range of

agro-input firms to improve their business performance including customer

management, marketing and promotions, business/financial management and

building retail networks. The incumbent will also be responsible for mobilizing

and coordinating a wide range of stakeholders to fight the problem of

counterfeit agricultural inputs in the region and promote better access to high

quality inputs and agricultural services for farmers.


Qualifications,

Skills and Experience: 


·        
The applicant should hold a first degree in a business-related

field


·        
A minimum of four years of related experience


·        
Candidates with experience in one or more of the

following will be highly competitive:


o   Business

start-up, failing and trying again: entrepreneurs who aren’t afraid and can

learn quickly


o   Business

management, sales and marketing: people who understand how to change people’s

behavior and drive performance improvements (experience in ICT, media and telecommunications

is highly desired)


o   Stakeholder

coordination and coalition building working with a wide range of private

sector, local government, civil society, and agricultural actors.

Be a serious self-starter.


·        
Ability to work independently and effectively.


·        
Ability to work well with a wide range of people,

inspire passion and involvement, and motivate others to collaborate.


·        
Ability and eagerness to reside outside Kampala


·        
Personal
