Grameen Foundation seeks Ugandan or East Africa nationals experienced in development project management and agriculture/finance for an anticipated project in Uganda.  (Experienced Project Leads with technical expertise in rural and agricultural finance).   Candidates must have a technical background in rural microfinance and/or agricultural finance. Experience in adult training and/or organizational development a plus. The position will oversee multi-year development project activities including multi-year project planning and goal setting, budgeting, personnel management, and monitoring and evaluation of project. These products were designed and piloted on a small scale through an initial 18 month engagement with a financial institution in Uganda.  The next phase of this work will see the Grameen Foundation team supporting the institution to operationalize and scale the two products. Grameen Foundation will also work with local and regional teams from the implementing partners to launch the products. The second stage of this project will focus on the development of additional services.Grameen Foundation has also been engaged by a major mobile network operator in Uganda to support development and delivery of a mobile wallet solution for groups. This product will be marketed to appeal to base of the pyramid consumers, in particular VSLAs. The product will also work in conjunction with financial institutions to drive financial inclusion.Job Summary:  The Program Manager, Savings Groups will use broad and comprehensive experience, skills and knowledge to direct all activities related to managing engagements with partner banks, mobile network operators, and savings group implementing partners in Uganda to support savings groups.  The incumbent will further Grameen Foundation’s vision and strategy to leverage mobile technology and innovative financial services models to enable the poor to lead more prosperous lives.  He/she will work directly with the Grameen Foundation global and country-level teams to drive product development and scaling efforts and manage the partner relationships. He/she will also be responsible for identifying and pursuing new opportunities in Uganda and other markets and will lead efforts to disseminate insights and findings from these projects.Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Develop detailed project plans with associated milestones and work with internal and external personnel to ensure goals are metManage the multiple work streams and projects, allocating resources across them in the most efficient manner to deliver to project plansHire and manage any additional resources needed to support the projectCreate and manage budget and ensure all spend is within +/-10% variance per quarter2. To effectively manage the B2B and B2C marketing of Grameen Foundation CKW Project.

The project: The CKW project has steadily grown with over 900 community knowledge workers based in 20 districts across Uganda serving farmers with actionable agriculture information and collecting vital data on rural communities.  Under its initial strategy, the programme focused on developing actionable content that was disseminated to the farmers through the community knowledge workers and a farmer helpline. As the project matures GF realizes the need to create impact by realigning it’s marketing strategy, making it more actionable, and getting closer to the farmer by creating and retaining a customer base to consume the information as well as a partner and client list to consume the product offering for deeper rural last mile outreach.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    * manage and coordinate all brand, marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities
* Build a strategy for an individual program/initiative/program (narrow scope); contribute/support KPIs.
* conduct market research (qualitative and quantitative) to determine market requirements for existing and future products
* analysis of customer research, current market conditions and competitor information present and explain the implications of competitive developments and market research to organization management
* Ensuring that competitive developments are being tracked and that the implications of important changes are well understood.
* develop and implement marketing plans and projects for new and existing products
* manage the productivity of the marketing plans and projects
* Present training and/or communication materials to internal and external stakeholders.
* monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results
* Manage and be accountable for program budgets, work plans, documentation, execution and analysis of programs.
* determine and manage the marketing budget
* deliver marketing activity within agreed budget

Job Summary: The Product Design Fellow (PDF) will drive human-centered design thinking for AppLab Money’s projects.  The PDF will work with the AppLab Money team to develop and execute user research and product testing strategies, track the user experience during pilots, and work with the technology team to ensure that the products are improved to meet the needs of users.

Reports to: Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Manage product design and innovation processes for the AppLab Money Incubator
Work with the AppLab team to determine product solutions that meet core needs of poor consumers through:
Planning and conducting primary research studies designed to understand user needs
Refining our process for testing to unearth key user insights more efficiently and effectively
Conducting brainstorming, requirements-gathering and design review sessions
Work with the team to develop strategies to rapid prototyping and iteration of product concepts through:
Developing wireframes and prototypes (both static and interactive) for testing with users.
Facilitating the product filtering process to ensure that products chosen for testing are technically feasible, commercially sustainable, and compliant with Bank of Uganda regulations
Monitoring and reporting on user feedback from the field and sharing that feedback within the team to quickly refine the product prototypes

    Document research findings in various forms (blogs, monthly updates, reports etc.)
Advocate for the adoption of human-centered design throughout GF worldwide
Provide training and mentorship in human-centered design to help junior staff integrate design principles in their work going forward

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Has a deep commitment to eradication of poverty and alignment with Grameen Foundation’s mission
Believes in the potential to leverage information and communication technology (ICTs) for the benefit of poor people
Has professional experience in human-centered design
Is able to bring creativity, innovation, and a thirst for new ideas to our team
Has strong prototyping and visual communication skills (experience developing mobile phone based products/apps preferred but not required)
Has strong written and oral communication skills
Has strong analytical and business modeling skills
Has deep knowledge of Microsoft office products (excel, powerpoint, word, etc.)
Experienced working in developing countries preferred but not required

Education and Experience:

    An undergraduate degree or higher in product design, engineering or related field.
3+ years professional experience developing new products through a human-centered design lens
