Position Description
To handle the accounts allocated to the position and ensure all underwriting work is done professionally and efficiently in accordance with set service standards and underwriting guidelines. The position also seeks to market the company products through agents and brokers to ensure business growth.

The basic premise of the job is that proper risk assessment, sound underwriting skills and efficient service delivery are key to account retention and attraction of new business to enable AIG meets its key objectives.
Position Requirements
Basic University Degree from a recognized Institution, preferably with a bias in Business Management/Administration, Actuarial Science or Statistics. Added qualification in insurance will be recommended for further career development.

3-5 years in a general insurance environment

Role Understands the work of a Captain and Marine Engineer

Position: Marine Technician /Deckhand
Reporting to; Marine Captain
Age limit 30-45 years
Location: Jinja
Salary scale: UR 6

Core Duties:
a) Understands the work of a Captain and Marine Engineer.
b) Undertake repair and servicing of outboard engine for launches,
c) Make reports of the state of the boat structures.
d) Work with maintenance section to repair wooden structures in the institute.
e)Provide appropriate fishing gears to scientist/stakeholders for their experimental/harvesting work on various water bodies for harvesting various aquatic life.
f) Design and construct appropriate gears for experimental use in lakes, ponds, rivers, and swamps.
g) Carry out repairs on gears that may have been damaged.
h) Work with stakeholders on the use of various fishing gears,
i) Test various gears to sea their effectiveness of the environment,
j) Supervising Coxswains/Deckhands in use of gears.
k) Carry out servicing on marine engines, generators, and water pumps and other mechanical equipment.
I) Undertake watch keeping duties while on vessel during cruises

Qualifications:
a) Diploma in fishing methods and gear technology or equivalent with relevant training in Seamanship/navigation and handling of marine vessels. Additional qualifications will be advantageous.
b) Minimum of three years in the fishing industry.
c) Navigational and mechanical knowledge will be added advantages.
