Conflict Prevention and Reconciliation Specialist ( FULL TIME )
Tetra Tech ARD (http://www.ardinc.com), a leading international development consulting firm based in Burlington, Vermont and Washington, D.C., is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Conflict Prevention and Reconciliation Specialist position for a potential USAID funded project in Uganda. The purpose of this project is to support peace building and conflict mitigation in Uganda by strengthening mechanisms for resolution of conflicts over land, oil and ethnic diversity. It will further enhance the capacity of local actors to prevent violent conflict and transform them into peaceful outcomes while promoting reconciliation. Through training, technical assistance and providing grants to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), the project will focus on the oil rich Albertine region, Northern Uganda, and Central Uganda as primary entry points.
Requirement:Qualified candidates will have expertise in one or more of the technical skills outlined below:
–USAID Experienced Monitoring and Evaluation;
–Training and Capacity Building related to land and conflict issues;
–Gender;
–Communications/Media/Public Information Awareness
–USAID Experienced Finance and Administration
–USAID Grant Management
Qualifications:
• Degree in conflict analysis, peace building, reconciliation or a related field;
• Minimum of six years in conflict prevention, mediation and dispute resolution, peace building and/or reconciliation with a particular focus on building the capacity indigenous community groups in conflict.
• Minimum six years of technical experience in conflict early warning, conflict mitigation and reconciliation working with multiple stakeholders including CSOs, local government officials and traditional institutions in a developing country.

Driver Jobs at Justice & Reconciliation Project in Uganda
Job Title: DRIVER
JRP seeks to recruit a hardworking programme Driver. A successful candidate should be able to manage and drive JRP vehicles in a safe manner. S/he must comply with all JRP regulations and abide to all road traffic and safety rules. The driver should have a sound understanding of mechanical conditions of organisation vehicles and carry out daily and weekly checks on vehicles to ascertain whether vehicles are in good roadworthy mechanical condition.
Applications are invited from highly experienced and qualified persons who possess at least a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent. At least 3 years of successful experience working with an NGO is an added advantage. A valid drivers’ license (Class B & DL) is required. Knowledge of driving 4WD vehicles is desirable. S/he must have some basic knowledge in auto mechanics and diesel engines. S/he must have an exceptional degree of respect and dignity to all JRP staff. One’s past disciplinary record will be seriously evaluated before recruitment.

Jobs at Justice & Reconciliation Project in Uganda- Documentation Officer
Job Title: DOCUMENTATION OFFICER
JRP seeks a qualified Documentation Officer to perform varied duties. S/he will work in close collaboration with all JRP departments managing knowledge and process documentation.
Key duties include:
•
Documenting and analysing all of the day-to-day programme activities
•
Editing and producing reports
•
Coordinating and supporting activities of all departments at JRP
•
Promoting community understanding in local advocacy and transitional justice programming
The job holder should be an all-round documentarian with unique abilities to pursue independent research. S/he will support JRP in data analysis and report editing. The position requires work with communities affected by conflict and requires a dynamic, policy-focused person. Experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is desirable.
A relevant undergraduate degree in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences will be desired. A relevant Master’s degree and relevant work experience in Transitional Justice with a reputable organisation will be strongly considered.
