WCH’s goal is the empowerment of children and young people in war-affected area by means of creative activities (music, drama, art and sports), strengthen psychosocial development, building community awareness, education and child protection programs. WCH has worked in Northern Uganda since 2004 and currently works in Acholi, Lango and Karamoja (Abim) with a country office in Kampala. War Child Holland has a strong commitment to the protection and safety of children. War Child Holland does not tolerate or accept any form of child abuse WCH is seeking qualified candidate to fill the position described below:

Purpose: To advise on (formal and non-formal) education and livelihood content development as well as the quality of education and livelihood programming within WCH Uganda. Reports to: Program Development Manager Location: Based in Kampala with at least 50% travel to WCH work areas; Or based in one of the WCH work areas with up to 50% travel to other WCH areas and 1 week per month in Kampala. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Ensure effective design and implementation of quality formal & non-formal education and livelihood programming through technical advice and support. • Review the current education and livelihood Strategy; support the delivery and achievement of objectives throughout the organisation. • Build the capacity of WCH staff and partners to be able to deliver quality education and livelihood activities and projects through on-the-job training, coaching and support. • Contribute to proposal development and report writing. • Represent WCH in his/her expertise related meetings and coordination platforms.
Experience : 3 (Years)

Location : Kampala Uganda
Skill Set : Minimum Requirements: • Relevant BSc and Masters in education, development or other relevant field. • Minimum of three years experience of supporting formal & non-formal education and livelihood programming for children and young people in an NGO in post conflict setting. • Proven technical expertise and up to date with best practices and global developments in the field of formal/non-formal education and livelihoods in a development context. • Proven advisory and coaching skills • Experience of training and capacity building of junior, senior staff and partner organisations. • Proven experience in development of strategy, tools, curricular and methodologies to support education and livelihoods programming, including child centred and creative approaches.
