Marie Stopes International delivers quality family planning and reproductive healthcare to millions of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable women.

Within Uganda there is a huge un-met need for family planning services; whilst the fertility rate has declined in the last ten years, women are still having two more children than they ideally desire. MS Uganda is one of our larger programmes, and was established in 1990 and currently employs c. 280 staff across 15 centres and 27 outreach teams.

About the role

We are recruiting a Finance Director for our Uganda Programme based in Kampala on a 2 year contract.

The Director Finance reports to the Country Director and is part of the Executive team of Marie Stopes International Uganda.

The post holder is a strategic leader managing a team responsible for providing financial management and leadership, ensuring that appropriate systems, procedures and controls are in place and fully implemented as an integral part of all staff responsibilities to support the continued growth and sustainability of the country programme.

This is a highly operational post which will not only do due diligence and identify gaps and weaknesses on an ongoing basis, but also build systems and processes and take management actions promptly and proactively to address the gaps.

About you

We see you being a professional qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA), with significant experience in a similar position at senior management level, with ideally both NGO and private sector exposure.

Knowledge of donor contract requirements for budgeting and reporting and prior experience in managing USAID grants is highly desirable.
