Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) is a statutory

organisation established by the Uganda Tourist Board Statute 1994. The Board’s

mandate is to promote and popularise Uganda as a viable holiday destination

both locally and internationally in order to:


·        
Increase

the contribution of tourism earnings and GDP


·        
Improve

Uganda’s competitiveness as an international tourism destination


·        
Increase

Uganda’s share of Africa’s and World tourism market.


Job

Summary:
 The Senior Procurement Officer will oversee

all procurements in UTB and ensure that they are done in a timely manner and in

accordance with the PPDA Act.


Key

Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Oversee

the procurement process in the Procurement and Disposal Unit.


·        
The

incumbent will also be charged with the development of policies and implement

cost effective procurement management systems.


·        
Initiate

and coordinate the preparation of Annual Procurement Plans and Budgets.


·        
Coordinate

and monitor UTB procurement and disposal activities in line with the PPDA Act

and regulations.


·        
Prepare

advertisements and bidding documents, receive bids, and provide clarification

to contracts committee.


·        
Maintain

an approved list of providers and suppliers


·        
The

job holder will be charged with the preparation of quarterly and monthly

reports to Management and PPDA.


·        
Perform

any other official duty assigned by management from time to time.


Qualifications,

Skills and Experience: 


·        
The

ideal candidate should preferably hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in

Procurement and Logistics or related discipline from a recognized University.


·        
Possession

of a Master’s degree in Procurement and Logistics or Supply Chain Management is

an added Advantage.


·        
Membership

to chartered Institute of purchasing and supplies is an added advantage


·        
At

least five years’ experience from a reputable Organization at senior level.


·        
Detailed

knowledge and understanding of government procurement and disposal procedures

and systems.


·        
Excellent

communication and Interpersonal skills.


·        
Leadership

skills.


·        
High

team ethic
