Mengo Hospital was founded in 1897 in
Kampala, and is the oldest hospital in Uganda. It currently serves as an urban
community hospital that provides modern medical care. Mengo Hospital provides
comprehensive care including radiology, obstetrics, dentistry, orthopedics, and
surgery. Additionally, Mengo Hospital provides critical training and education
to health professionals through its various programs in midwifery and nursing,
health sciences, and laboratory technology. Mengo Hospital also has a dedicated
research and development team that works to find new solutions to health issues
in Uganda.
Job
Summary: The Hospital Administrator will manage the Hospital’s Administration
Department. The incumbent will oversee the availability, utilization,
functioning, maintenance, safety and security of the Hospital physical
properties and infrastructure, and the efficient and effective provision of
administrative support services to the various Hospital Departments in
accordance with the established Hospital objectives and administrative
procedures
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
·
The ideal candidate should preferably hold an Honors
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Arts, Business Administration or Public
Administration, plus a postgraduate qualification in Management/Administration.
·
A minimum of ten years’ relevant working
experience and exposure in the administration function, preferably in a large
operations organization or context, three of which as Head or Deputy Head at
management level
·
Possess excellent organizational and leadership
skills, and a problem solver with capacity to think strategically as well as
provide satisfying solutions to operational problems
·
Computer literacy skills
·
Ability to accomplish targets in a timely manner
·
The applicant must honest, mature and with a well-balanced
personality
·
Age: Above 40
years.
