million people. CARE International in Uganda (CARE) works with others to make a

sustainable improvement in the lives of the very poor, with a focus on women

and girls’ right.


Job

Summary:
The Program Director will provide strategic leadership in the areas of

resource mobilisation, program strategy development and implementation, impact

measurement and knowledge management, MEAL (Monitoring Evaluation

Accountability and Learning), program quality assurance, evidence based

advocacy and IDOS (Institutional Development and Organizational Strengthening)

of civil society and government partners.


Qualifications,

Skills and Experience: 


·        
The applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in

related field, preferably in gender studies or related social or development

studies.


·        
A minimum of seven years’ experience in a senior

management program position in the development sector overseeing a large and

diverse portfolio of various restricted donor grants;


·        
Five years’ experience in managing a diverse group

of staff and managing teams for success;


·        
A minimum of three years’ experience in managing

USAID and EU grants;


·        
Proven experience leading and managing

organizational change;


·        
Proven experience with at least gender sensitive

programming and preferably with gender transformative programming;


·        
Proven experience and capacity in developing and

managing institutional partnerships & relationships, including with CSOs

and private sector;


·        
Significant experience with all aspects of

managing programs and grants, including managing teams;


·        
Proven experience in and personal commitment to

rights based approaches, with an unshakable commitment to gender equality and

women and girls’ rights;


·        
Strategic thinker capable of leading

organizational change;


·        
Excellent conceptual and proposal writing skills;


·        
Excellent communication, representation and

negotiation skills
