Embassy of Sweden Careers - Programme Officer for Inclusive Growth and Employment (Agribusiness)


Organization: Embassy of SwedenThe Embassy of Sweden in Kampala has a broad mandate to promote Swedish-Ugandan relations through political dialogue, development cooperation, trade and investment, cultural exchange and through service to Swedish and foreign citizens with issues related to Swedish authorities. Sweden is strengthening its engagement with Uganda in the area of trade and investment, and has embarked on a new programming period of its bilateral development cooperation. Job Summary: The Swedish Embassy’s Programme Officer for Inclusive Growth and Employment (Agribusiness) will primarily manage the Embassy’s contributions related to agribusiness and resilience. Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Significantly contribute to portfolio development of the country programme;Management of contributions, including preparations, risk analysis, performance review, financial monitoring and auditing;Actively participate in trade promotion activities and contribute to reporting in the field of responsibility;Serve as the focal point for environment and climate change.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  The candidate for the Swedish Embassy PO hold an advanced academic degree in a relevant field;A minimum of seven or more years of relevant professional experience in agribusiness;Documented knowledge of environment and climate change issues.Sound analytical capacity;Excellent written and oral communication skills;Excellent command of both spoken and written English;Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working in a multicultural environment;Possess the ability to adhere to rules and regulations of the Embassy of Sweden;Motivation to promote Swedish policies and values.Past experience from the private sector in Africa is desired Past experience of working with environmental and climate change issues is an added advantage Prior experience of working with inclusive business and corporate social responsibility.All interested candidates are encouraged to e-mail their updated CVs and cover letter explaining suitability for the post and how they meet the requirements, including three professional referees and copies of certificates to the address below. Job Summary:  The Trade Promotion and Information Officer will be responsible for the promotion of trade and economic relations between Sweden and Uganda and also the Embassy’s communication and information needs. The Officer will be working in the political and economic section.
