Salary Scale: M3 shs.40,281,366= p.a to shs.40,525,525= p.a

Qualifications: Honours degree. Possession of a Master’s degree in Educational Management is an added advantage. Experience: Should have sewed at least 8 (eight) years, 4 (four) of which at senior management level in a reputable organisation.

Required Skills:

- Excellent interpersonal relations

- Excellent understanding of regulatory agencies in higher education

- Excellent understanding of Quality Assurance programmes, nationally and regionally

Duties:

The Academic Registrar will be responsible to the Vice Chancellor through the 1st Deputy Vice Chancellor. The person appointed will have the responsibility of a wide range of services that are core to the operations of the University, as follows:

- Member of Top Management

- Providing secretarial services to Senate and its Committees

- Responsible for admission of students, their registration through graduation

- Liaise with academic staff in relation to students’ academic progress and their examination results

- Liaise with partner institutions in matters of Joint Admissions

- Organise career visits to schools

- Deal with Alumni and Convocation and serve as Secretary to Convocation

- Liaise with the Finance Department in matters of students fees payment

- Maintain a Students’ Academic Records Management System

- Responsible for Quality Assurance in academic programmes NOTE: Persons who responded to the earlier advert should not re-apply.

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER - (UICT SCALE 6)

Department: Office of the Academic Registrar

Reporting to: Assistant Academic Registrar

Main purpose of the job

Provide administrative support in the Office of the Academic Registrar.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate students admission and registration

Maintain records of students Initiate and follow up procurement of examination materials

Liaise with departments regarding examination schedules Liaise with the departments on the implementation of the academic calendar

Process academic testimonials for students Assist in preparations of graduation ceremonies

Prepare timely reports on students admission and enrolment

Ensure availability of class rooms for all lectures Ensure timely issue of testimonials to bona fide students who have been duly cleared Coordinating departmental staff development activities

Participate in the departmental meetings

Qualification/Training: An Honours Degree in Social Sciences or Social Works and Social Administration or Political Science & Public Administration or Business Administration or Education Management with 3 years experience in an institution of higher learning. Must be computer literate. Experience in electronic student information management systems will be of added advantage.

Records officer /Registrar officer - Job Vacancy in Uganda

Job Title: Records/Registrar officer
MAIN TASK:
To provide high quality records management services and assist in the development, promotion and implementation of records management best practices within Rural Electrification Agency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
a) Establish and maintain a robust records management system for the Rural Electrification Agency.
b) Develop records management procedures and monitor compliance to ensure that the system is correctly used by staff and records properly controlled.
c) Register, classify and route incoming correspondences, documents and other materials.
d) Run the Registry and process records by creating paper and electronic folders, filing and retrieving information in accordance with records management procedures so that staff can find the information they need quickly and easily.
e) Respond to inquiries regarding files, correspondences and references.
f) Participate in the dispatch of outgoing communication, trans¬mission of fax messages and e-mails.
g) Forwarding files for action, monitoring file movement and super¬vising regular file census,
h) Manage the location and storage of records, including: con¬ducting an annual records audit; organizing the disposal of records in accordance with their retention schedule; ensuring that access to records is properly controlled; and managing the movement of records between storage areas.
i) Deliver training, advice and support to staff on records management policies and procedures to ensure that staff obtain maximum benefit from the records management system.
j) Provide effective staff supervision; including planning, monitor¬ing, developing and evaluation of their performance on a regular basis.
k) Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor
