primary and pre-primary schools with more than 400 academies and 120,000 pupils

in Kenya and Uganda. We democratize the right to succeed by giving families

living in poverty access to the high-quality education that will allow their

children to live a very different life. We leverage experts, data, and

technology in order to standardize and scale every aspect of quality education

delivery, from how and where academies are built to how teachers are selected

and trained, and how lessons are delivered and monitored for improvement. We

are vertically-integrated, tech-enabled, and on our way to profitability.

Bridge expects to continue rapid expansion in East Africa, and will be launching

operations in Nigeria in September 2015, with India to follow in 2016.


Job Summary: The Ambassador

Manager will support Bridge International Academies by playing focal role in the

launch of dozens of new academies – a time period that is the biggest driver of

an academy’s success, even two years later. Bridge Ambassador Managers work

hands-on with a team of Bridge Ambassadors to provide the leadership,

mentorship, and individualised support needed to ensure that all of their

communities launch strongly with buy-in from all stakeholders: key community

leaders whose support we need, motivated young adults who could go on to become

Academy Managers and Teachers, and potential parents whose kids can be admitted

to Bridge once the academy opens. Bridge Ambassador Managers are skilled

negotiators, relationship builders, conflict managers, and motivational

speakers. They exhibit excellent problem solving skills with the ability to

multi-task and prioritize effectively. They thrive in fast-paced environments

with multiple demands. Ideally they have been a Brand Ambassador before, or

done similar work running a customer-facing business that was results driven

and sought to create social change.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Launch oversight – supervise and

mentor Bridge Ambassadors to ensure all academies are meeting community, staff,

and parent outreach goals


·        
Public relations – develop and

maintain strong relationships with local government and community leaders to

advocate for higher-quality education and promote Bridge


·        
Academy staff recruiting and assessment – ensure

applicants are up to Bridge standard; conduct final interviews


·        
Customer relations – support the

customer outreach work of Ambassadors; engage with customers personally as much

as possible to stay tuned to the unique needs of each community


·        
Event planning and organisation – support the

planning that goes into each community’s Grand Opening Celebrations


·        
Travel – 50% travel

between all of the academies in your region


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Degree

holder


·        
A minimum of seven years’ work experience


·        
Proven leadership experience leading a large-scale

community organisation or business including a large sense of personal

responsibility, a dynamic ability to mentor and motivate field-based staff, and

the ability to be stern when needed; Experience as a Bridge Ambassador highly

preferred


·        
Past experience and passion for education, community

development, or community organising; experience working with local

governments, doing brand outreach, or staff recruitment preferred


·        
Proven success driving growth at a data-driven,

customer-facing organisation


·        
Strong interpersonal skills including the understand

local cultures and build relationships with different types of people quickly


·        
Proven resilience handing the realities of

on-the-ground operational challenges and ability to thrive in a fast-paced

environment with multiple demands


·        
Strong familiarity of the communities Bridge

International Academies are in; you have lived or worked in low-income

communities for several years and are accustomed to how communities work


·        
Clear communication skills with impeccable written

and spoken English and multiple local language skills (3+ languages preferred)


·        
A desire to grow personally and professionally,

including the ability to quickly learn and follow the policies of a

multinational organisation; internal promotions are encouraged


·        
The applicant should have worked in community

development, outreach, or organising in the past (be it social, political, or

religious), led a community organisation (youth group, community development

association, savings clubs, etc), or planned community/co-curricular events

throughout the country;


·        
Has managed 4+ people in the past; Thrives in new

environments;


·        
The applicant must have worked with and has some

connections within local government or important community organisations.


·        
Age: 27- 40 years

old
