Job Summary: The Finance
Director will provide strategic leadership in Financial Management in line with
ActionAid Uganda and International strategies, policies, procedures, statutory
laws and International financial standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Oversee the development of plans and budgets in line
with AAI/AAU policies
·
Develop and implement an internal control system to
maintain the financial integrity and compliance with MU policies, procedures and
national laws
·
Regularly review and approve expenditures and other
financial related transactions in line with the financial policies and
procedures.
·
Develop and implement financial reporting system in
line with financial framework, policies and procedures
·
The incumbent will provide technical advice and
support on the program financial matters to the Country Director and other
staff as required.
·
Provide technical support and guidance to grants and
contracts management to ensure adherence to and compliance with the MU policies
and donor requirements
·
Coordinate the intemal and external audit engagement
in line with MU policies and international finance reporting
·
Ensure the integrity of accounting systems and
ensure data security.
·
Contribute to strategic decision making through CMT
and support to the board
·
Mentor, supervise, and manage finance staff and
functions in line with the Human Resource Plan (HRP), FPPM and MU Financial
Management framework.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·
The applicant should hold bachelor’s degree in
Commerce, Business Administration Accounting) or any other relevant
qualification Must be member to a professional Accounting body (ACCA, CPA, ACA,
CIMA, etc.)
·
Possession of a Master’s Degree in Business
Administration (MBA), Finance sad Accounting is an added advantage
·
At least five years’ experience in financial
management in a reputable organisation, with a minimum of three years in a
senior Management position.
·
Practical experience in using computerized financial
accounting packages
·
Experience working in Non-Governmental organizations
is an added advantage
·

Budgeting and budgetary control skills
·
Computer literacy skills preferably with working knowledge
of accounting packages
·
Strategic planning skills
·
Good communication and networking skills
·
Donor/ Contract management skills
·
Leadership skills
·
