Welcome to

the United States Embassy in Kampala, Uganda. 

The United States has enjoyed diplomatic relations with Uganda for over

30 years.  Ambassador Scott H. DeLisi

currently heads the U.S Mission to Uganda. 

The Mission is composed of several offices and organizations all working

under the auspices of the Embassy and at the direction of the Ambassador.


Among the

offices operating under the U.S Mission to Uganda are:

United States Agency for International Development

(USAID)

Centers for Disease Control (CDC)


·        
Peace Corps


Job

Summary:
The Chauffeur operates a US Embassy passenger vehicle according to the

supervisor’s instructions to transport personnel and official visitors within

the city and surrounding areas, deliver documents, performs minor repairs and

maintenance and general cleaning of the vehicle


Key

Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Operates a passenger vehicle according to the

supervisor’s instructions to transport personnel and official visitors within

the city and surrounding areas- 60%


·        
Delivers and picks documents, supplies to/from NIH

collaborating organisations and individuals- 20%


·        
Carries out minor repairs and maintenance and

general cleaning of the vehicle- 20%


Qualifications,

Skills and Experience:


NOTE:

The ideal candidate for the US Embassy Chauffeur

job vacancy should have completed secondary school i.e. A’ level certificate


·        
A minimum of two years’ experience working as a

chauffeur


·        
The applicant must possess a valid local driver’s

license for combined types of vehicles


·        
Familiarity with local traffic laws and patterns.


·        
Language

Proficiency:
List both English and host country language(s) by

level and specialization. Level III (good working knowledge) speaking/reading

English ability is required.
