About the Job:
FINCA International is looking for a Regional Human Resources Director - Africa. S/he will report to the vice president, human resources. S/he will be partnering with the regional director, subsidiary leadership and subsidiary HR managers to implement effective HR initiatives in support of the regional and local business goals and contribute to the development of strategy and business plans throughout the region. S/he will provide guidance and leadership on people management dimensions of business strategy.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and corporate HR to ensure that HR strategies support and drive the accomplishment of regional business initiatives. Engage line management as the client and demonstrate strong understanding of business needs;Provide expertise and guidance in the development and implementation of human resources policies to meet organizational needs and comply with local laws;Monitor regional priorities and manage deliverables. Provide management with regular progress reports and recommend and implement measures necessary to ensure progress is on track;Create coaching and mentoring partnerships with subsidiary HR managers;Facilitate learning opportunities and provide relevant, high-impact feedback;Provide compensation guidance in developing regional compensation plans, ensuring that plans meets the local business requirements and the strategic goals of the FINCA network;Work with regional HR managers and senior leadership to develop pragmatic and effective approaches to talent acquisition in a way that improves attraction and retention of talent;Provides guidance in the implementation, development and maintenance of human resources information systems to ensure record keeping and reporting requirements are accurate and timely. Provide expertise in the research, evaluation and implementation of other HR automation software solutions;Analyzes regional trends in turnover, hiring, promotions, separations, and grievances to determine support or action needed to adjust unfavorable trends;Provides HR support to the information services - shared services center (SSC) including oversight of all human resources systems and procedures for the SSC including performance management, recruitment and selection and HR administration.

Qualifications:
Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent or 4 to 10 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience;More than years of progressive human resources management experience with a broad understanding of human resources principles and concepts in areas of employee relations, staff development, staffing, compensation & benefits, compliances, regulations, labor law, HRIS and organizational design and diagnosis;Previous experience working/living in Africa;Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices in one or more of the region’s countries;Demonstrable track record of leading substantial change – maximizing benefits and minimizing risks;Cultural sensitive, with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching;Experience of building, leading and developing staff with different backgrounds and expertise;Able to create appealing expertise which encourages senior managers to seek help and counsel in resolving people matters maturely and with minimal disruption;Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in;Proven track record in developing and managing a broad range of HR activities on an international scale, including dealing with a disparate expatriate workforce;Capability to handle highly confidential information discretely;Six Sigma training would be a plus;Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals;Knowledge of human resource systems such as PeopleSoft, SAP, NuView, or similar global HR products: MS Visio, MS Project, Internet software, Payroll systems, MS Office products;Willingness to travel in developing countries.
