Preferred Skills: Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is an international non-profit, public health organisation withheadquarters in USA, whose purpose is to strengthen health programs worldwide. MSH Uganda is currently running a number of USAID and other donor funded projects including SURE, both in Kampala and otherSURE (Securing Ugandans’ Right to Essential Medicines) will ensure that the population of Uganda has access to adequate quantities of good quality essential medicines and health supplies (EMHS) by strengthening the national essential medicines and health commodities supply system. MSH now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions within the SURE Program:1) Training Coordinator (Kampala)The Training Coordinator will closely work with the Training Officer, Training Intern, technical teams and the Pharmacy Division of the Ministry of Health to ensure effective, efficient and quality implementation of SURE strategies through training and capacity building. S/he will oversee the capacity building activities for SURE staff and MOH at all levels including but not limited to MoH programs, implementing partners, and staff from other program working in the area of pharmaceuticals such as DFID, BTC, World Bank etc. S/he will supervise the Training Officer and Intern. In addition the Training Coordinator will:• Coordinate and manage implementation of SURE strategies through training and capacity building.• Oversee identification of training needs, support the development of training manuals and conduct trainings for SURE-supported districts, MoH programs, SURE field coordinators and implementing• Work with the Pharmacy Division and relevant stakeholders to harmonize training efforts and establish pre-service training for all health professionals.• In close collaboration with the training team develop and maintain an updated training calendar harmonized across the different areas of the SURE work plan.• Work with the SURE team to implement the capacity building strategy - SPARS and practical training forthe MoH programs. MoH staff and USAID implementing partners, PNFP and other programsworking in the area of pharmaceuticals at district and facility level.• In collaboration with the District Information Team assist in developing capacity of MMS to use newtechnology for data collection and communication is effectively implemented.• In consultation with SURE MIS staff assist in the development and implementation of training in datautilization related to FACTS and PIP.• Assist in the rollout of the new and integrated LMIS by incorporating it into relevant training areas at all• Maintain and update Trainet.org (a database tracking training implemented by SURE).• Coordinate training STTAs, oversee the timely planning for training materials and logistics andensure adherence to necessary administrative procedures to allow smooth implementation of• Assist in harmonizing and coordinating curricula activities at training institutions in Uganda to getbasic training of pharmaceuticals into the training of all health workers.• Write training reports and other adhoc reports.1) A masters degree in a health area, social sciences, or any other related field. 2) Good management, coordination and planning experience 3) Five years work experience in organizing, planning and implementing training and capacity building activities. 4) Good facilitation and communication skills. 5) Good and documented experience in development of training materials, power point presentations and implementation of training sessions.6) Strong teamwork and team-building skills 7) Experience in developing training curricula 8) Strong English skills required 9) Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point 10) Ability to work independently and meet timelines. 11) Ability to travel in Uganda to provide technical assistance.2) Logistics Officer – Ministry of Health technical programs support (Kampala) Reports to: Logistics CoordinatorThe Logistics Officer will provide technical assistance in collaboration with the Pharmacy Division to the ministry of health’s National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) to strengthen the pharmaceutical management of malaria commodities for both public and private not for profit (PNFP) sectors. This technical assistance is also aimed at improving the capacity of the NMCP in performance monitoring of the malaria commodities supply chain. In addition the Logistics Officer will:• Support the strengthening of the malaria commodities supply system for both public and PNFP• Assist NMCP to monitor and analyse malaria commodities pipeline at all levels of the supply system.• Support the NMCP and quantification and procurement planning unit (QPPU) in conductingannual quantifications and procurement plans for malaria commodities.• Support PMI in coordinating pre storage in-country logistics for PMI supported malaria commodities.• Support the preparation and monitoring of the Global Fund for AIDS Tuberculosis and Malaria(GFATM) Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSM) plans for malaria commodities.• Support the collection and analysis of supply chain management data on indicators for malariacommodities and prepare periodical performance reports.1)A degree in pharmacy, training in pharmaceutical supply chain management will be an added advantage 2) Work experience in providing supply chain management technical assistance is preferred3) Experience with medicines supply chain management information systems is an advantage 4)Experience in Uganda with knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the Uganda publichealth system and prior experience with USAID supported programs is an added advantage 5)Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other stakeholders in developing creative and strategic solutions to achieve common goals 6) Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and shifting deadlines 7) Strong organizational, administrative, communication and reporting skills 8) Strong teamwork and team-building skills 9) Fluent in English language including ability to write lucid technical reports10) Computer skills in Microsoft office.All applications should be addressed to:The Human Resources Partner – MSH, Plot 15 PrincessAnn Drive Bugolobi, P.
