Reports to:               Deputy Director Qualification Standards
Job purpose:                                                                                                                
To plan, coordinate and provide technical guidance in the development of occupation standards, programmes and activities for the various occupations/ professions in liaison with the relevant stakeholders.
Duties/Responsibilities 

Plan and participate in Occupational Profiling and validation programmes/ initiatives for defined trades/ Technical /Vocational disciplines;liaise with the Industrial/ Private Sector and training institutions in developing Occupational Standards for defined Trades/Technical/ Vocational disciplines;planning and implementation of capacity development initiatives for  facilitators of Occupational Standards  development;Develop and maintain an up-to-date data bank on Occupational Standards  and Qualifications to aid planning in the Sub-sector;Participate in the identification and nomination of members to the Occupational Standards Development and Validation Teams for defined trades/technical vocational disciplines;Supervise and appraise senior Qualifications Officers.Any other duties as may be assigned by the relevant authority.

Qualifications and Work Experience:

An Honours? Degree in Engineering /Technology or in any other technical /vocational field.Post graduate Diploma in any relevant vocational / technical discipline with a bias in vocational training pedagogy OR Competence Based Education and Training (CBET) from a recognized Institution.7years Work experience, 3 of which must have been at Senior Lecturer OR Principal Instructor or equivalent of teaching in a post primary Technical/ Vocational education and training institution.Competence in curriculum development is an added advantage.

Serving officers must route their applications through their Heads of Institutions/Departments, who should be advised of the closing date to avoid delay. Applications that are not properly routed will not be considered.
Applicants from outside the Public Service should not be more than 50 years of age.
