Uganda is Non-profit organization whose primary mission is to equip refugees

and others affected by conflict in Africa to meet the challenges of development

through providing access to education, training, and employment opportunities

by advocacy and direct programme activity. Windle Trust Uganda has been a

leading provider of access to university education, post-primary education, and

vocational training for conflict-affected Africans since 1996.

Uganda (WTU) works in partnership with the UNHCR in various Refugee Settlements

operation areas in Nakivale, Oruchinga, Kyaka, Kiryandongo, Arua, Adjumani and Rwamwanja.


Job Summary: The Senior

Finance and Administration Officer will be responsible for Grants Management

hence ensuring that all donor funds are properly identified, utilized, recorded

and reported.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Ensure that proper accounting records are maintained

regarding the management and transactions of the programme;


·        
Maintain/update the accounting system for the

programme which includes a cashbook, general ledger and bank reconciliation;


·        
Prepare and submit monthly expenditure reports

giving information on funds advanced, the amounts accounted for, bank reconciliation

and progress against the budget;


·        
Maintain and organize the filling system for source

documents and aid at the end of the financial year for external audits.


·        
Prepare procurement management reports based on

records of procurement.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The applicant should preferably hold a bachelor’s

degree in Business Administration Accounting and Finance or accounts/financial

management with a


·        
At least three years of relevant professional

experience in financial management in the NGO sector


·        
Additional professional qualifications such as

(ACCA/CPA stage II) and practical experience with QuickBooks accounting

software is a must.


·        
The applicant should have comprehensive knowledge in

donor financial rules and regulations; procurement and government policies and

regulations especially on taxation.


·        
Fluency in English is required.
