Heavy Engineering Ltd Kenya Jobs Vacancies.

Heavy Engineering Ltd is a manufacturing industry that specializes in steel fabrication and the manufacture of hydroelectric machinery. We are looking for dynamic and positive Kenyans to fill the following position:

The Safety Officer will be responsible for offering advisory services to management on all Health, safety, and Environment related issues within the factory.

Main Responsibilities:

* Preparing and ensuring implementation of health and safety strategies.
* Implementing the company Health and Safety Procedures and developing local work procedures to comply with legal obligations.
* Carrying out job safety analyses and considering how risks can be reduced or eliminated.
* Regular site inspections, Audits and proper record keeping on Safety Procedure on Induction and Training.
* Coordinating the safety committee as well as the meetings.
* Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all environmental, health and safety legislation and any developments in our industry, and liaising with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
* Managing and organizing the safe disposal of hazardous substances at the work place.
* Maintaining an efficient system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries, accidents and dangerous occurrences in company’s and in the field

Qualifications

* Have a Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science/Health and Safety
* Have professional certification in Occupational Safety and Health
* At least 1-2 years experience preferably in a factory setting

Assistant Purchasing & Stores Clerk

Job Description

* Assist in receiving purchase requisition and forwarding to the HOD
* Assist the stores clerk with the invoices, checking that all the invoices match with the LPO
* Prepare all the LPO, invoices and GRN to the finance department for payment process and highlight any abnormalities to forward them back to HOD for rectification.
* Update the IMIS system with the payments.
* Assist the stores clerk with issues on IMIS system
* Ensure compliance with relevant government policies on procurement, supplies management and disposal
* Ensure security and safe custody of stores as well as regular stock taking
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries

Qualification and experience required

* Must possess Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution and proficient in computers
* Must have 1-2 years of relevant experience
* Be a person of high moral and social integrity
* Experience in a similar capacity will be an added advantage
* Able to meet set deadlines and work long hours with minimal supervision.
