Sarova Hotels Kenya Jobs 2011.

The Sarova Hotels’ vision is,” To be the preferred hospitality company, in the ownership and management of hotels, resorts and game lodges in the key markets of the African Continent’.

We are looking for highly competent, ambitious and dynamic persons to fill the following positions at some of our Hotels, Resorts and Game Lodges

1. Lodge Manager

The candidate’s main duties will be to maximize the efficiency of the unit in order to achieve budgeted GOP, ensuring the maintenance of quality standards of service and the development of the business, people and product.

Applicants must have a degree /diploma in Hotel Management from a recognized institution and a minimum of 7 years relevant experience in senior management with all round exposure in all hotel departments.

2. Front Office Manager

The candidate will control and co-ordinate all Front Office operations to the highest standard and provide supportive functional assistance to all departments in dealing with guest concerns and special requests.

The candidate must have a degree/diploma in Front Office Operations and at least 5 years relevant experience in a similar position. Foreign language knowledge will be an added advantage

3. Food and Beverage Manager

The candidate will be in charge of controlling and co-ordinating all Food and Beverage operations to the highest standards.

Applicants must have a degree/diploma in Hotel Management, have stewarding knowledge and at least 5 years relevant experience in a similar field.

4. Banqueting Manager

The candidate will be responsible for supervising and controlling banqueting operations, conferencing activities, outdoor catering services and themed events to the required brand standards and within agreed budgetary targets.

Applicants must have a diploma in hotel management and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar position.

5. Restaurant Manager

The candidate will be responsible for all restaurant operations, leading the restaurant team members and ensuring success in achieving budgeted targets.

Applicants must have a degree/diploma in hotel management, training in advanced F&B service and sales, revenue management and cost control. S/he should be proficient in hotel application systems and have at least 3 years relevant experience in a similar position.

6. Unit Engineer

The candidate will be responsible for efficiently planning, controlling and coordinating maintenance program for all assets and equipments as well as undertaking projects.

Applicant must have a degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, at least 5 years relevant experience in a similar position. S/he must be a registered Engineer.

7. Chief Security Officer

The candidate will be expected to provide a comprehensive security system and manage the security operations of the hotel.

Applicants must have at least 5 years experience in the Disciplined Forces, 2 of which should be in the rank of Inspector or in a similar capacity. The candidate must be excellent in investigations and should understand both Criminal and Civil Law.

8. Financial Manager

The candidate will be responsible for the overall financial activities of the hotel which will include effective financial planning and controls as per budgetary limits.

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Finance / Accounting option, a professional accounting qualification e.g. ACCA, CPA (K) and at least 5 years relevant experience in a similar position. An MBA will be an added advantage.

9.Corporate Communications Manager

The candidate will be in charge of developing and maintaining the company’s corporate image and identity.

Applicants must have a relevant degree, a post graduate diploma in Public Relations/Mass Communication and at least 5 years experience in a similar position. A master’s degree in communication will be an added advantage.

10. Sales Manager

The candidate will head the sales team and will be responsible for managing and maximizing revenues for all accounts.

S/he must have a bachelor’s degree in a business related field , a CIM qualification with at least 5-7 years post qualification experience in sales account management, 2 of which should be at HOD level.

11. Sales Account Manager

The candidate will be responsible for managing and maximizing revenues for key accounts and sourcing for new clients.

The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in a business related field, excellent presentation and communication skills and at least 3 years relevant experience in a similar field. S/he must have knowledge in hotel marketing and sales.

12. Marketing Executive

The candidate will be in charge of product development, brand management, customer focused research and media relations.

S/he must have a bachelor’s degree in a business related field with a focus in marketing and at least 3 years relevant experience in service marketing.

13. Executive Housekeeper

The candidate will be responsible for running the operations of the department so as to achieve excellent standards of housekeeping in the rooms, public areas and the back of house.

Applicants must have a degree in Hotel and Institution Management/diploma in Hotel Management, and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in similar position.

14. Pastry Chef

The candidate will be in charge of leading the pastry and bakery section, producing consistent quality products as per requirements and assisting the Executive Chef in the day to day running of the kitchen.

S/he must have a diploma in food production from a recognized hospitality institution, be conversant with the basic principles of food production and hygiene and have at least 3 years relevant experience in a similar position.

15. Sous Chef

The candidate will be responsible for quality food production in the restaurants and managing all outlet kitchen operations according to the required standards.

Applicants should have a diploma in food production from a recognized institution; at least 3 years experience in the same capacity and must be conversant with the principles of menu planning, preparation and presentation in a large scale operation.

16. F&B Controller

The candidate will oversee Food and Beverage stock controls, verify quantities and costs of Food and Beverage purchase from records and monitor profit and loss on each item of Food or Beverage sold in all aspects of service.

Applicants must have a CPA (K) and at least 3 years experience in a similar position.

17. Stores Manager

The candidate will be in charge of maintaining adequate stocks for hotel operations while maintaining the required standards ensuring that all goods are stored under ideal conditions and at maximum security at all times.

Applicants must have training in basic Accounting, a diploma in purchasing and supplies management and at least 3 years relevant experience in a similar position.

18. Internal Auditor

The candidate will be responsible for carrying out audits, monitoring controls, examining accounting systems, verifying records, establishing techniques to discover and prevent fraud and recommending changes to ensure compliance with standards.

Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in a business-related field, be a qualified accountant with CPA (K) or ACCA, be a registered member of ICPAK and have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in audit. An MBA will be an added advantage.

19. Training Manager

The candidate will be in charge of the training function within the hotel and will operate in accordance with the corporate training and development strategy.

S/he must have a degree in social sciences, a post graduate diploma in HRM and at least 5 years experience in a similar position. A master’s degree in social sciences will be an added advantage.

20. IT Manager

The candidate will be expected to ensure the smooth operation of all information and communication systems within the hotel in line with the business function and objectives.

Applicants must have a degree in Computer Science or Business Information Technology, training in CISCO networks and at least 5 years experience as an IT Manager or in a similar position in a busy firm.

21. Senior Warden

The candidate will be responsible for undertaking day-to-day maintenance of the park and acting as a point of contact for park visitors.

Applicants must have worked in a game park and risen to the rank of senior warden, have a minimum 15 years experience in officer rank and have knowledge of principles of game management.
