Preferred Skills: UGANDA ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION COMPANY LIMITEDThe Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is one of the three successor companies of the Uganda Electricity Board (UEB). Their mandate is ownership of the electricity distribution assets in Uganda. UEDCL is seeking to hire qualifi ed persons to fi ll the following position:POSITION TITLE: PROCUREMENT OFFICERReports to : Manager Pole Plant and StoresDuty station : Lugogo, KampalaRole of Position: To procure goods and services in accordance with procurement policies and guidelines.1. Carry out the procurement of goods and services based on agreed specifi cations in line with procurement policies and guidelines.2. Compile procurement requirements , verifying and preparing documents on a timely basis in line with the departmental business plan3. Carry out vendor surveys and analysis, appraise and rate existing suppliers in line with the departmental business plan.4. Liaising with Accounts team from time to time to ensure availability of procurement funds.5. Process and forward to fi nancial accounts department, supplier payment documents for goods and services6. Carry out disposal of fi xed assets and obsolete inventory in line with the PPDA asset disposal policy.7. Prepare monthly and annual reports on procurement activities in accordance with organizational Policies and Procedures.1. A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain/Logistics management, Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized university. A Graduate Diploma in purchasing and Supplies(CIPS) is an added advantage2. Hands on experience in implementing logistics and supplies-related activities of not less than three Years, preferably in public/private organization3. Good Negotiation and communication and computer skills4. Ability to drive motor vehicles and motorcyclesPOSITION TITLE: Principal Technical Services OfficerReports to : Manager Technical ServicesSupervises : Off grid Managers, Billing/Revenue AssistantResponsible for dealing with all technical issues in the company like the pole plant, off grid and head office 1. Provide guidance towards safe, economical, effi cient and effective operations of the off grid stations and generate inputs for effi cient operations.2. Develop and provide safety guidelines for operations in line with the safety policy and procedures.3. Authorize the implementation of works orders, data amendment forms, debit/credit notes and amend account request to ensure an updated customer database.4. Authenticate the validity of readings and provide guidelines towards prompt meter reading and bill delivery.5. Design, plan, develop specifi cations, update the specifi cations, supervise implementation of an approved design of an effi cient and cost effective IT facility and associated maintenance.6. Develop and implement safety guidelines per assignment while carrying out operational duties so as to guarantee safety of staff and public.7. Prepare section budget and implementation plans in line with UEDCL policies and guidelines8. Develop technical specifi cations for technical supplies/goods.9. Review and monitor implementation of risks in the section in line with the company’s risk policy.10. Prepare monthly and annual reports on sectional activities in accordance with UEDCL policies and procedures.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• A Bachelors degree in Electrical engineering or it’s equivalent from a recognized university.• Experience of not less than 5 years in a recognized organization• Certifi cates in Substation Maintenance, ICT, accounts for technicians and Power Systems Protection will be added advantage.• Knowledge of the national electricity distribution network.• Knowledge in distribution systems, maintenance and management.• Knowledge in metering systems and systems protection.• Excellent analytical and monitoring skills.• Membership to the professional body of engineers is an added advantage.• Computer literacy with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft offi ce, PowerPoint presentations, database management systemsPOSITION TITLE: Senior Technical Compliance OfficerReports to: Principal Technical Compliance Offi cerOffer Support Monitoring Compliance to the LAA in order to achieve organizational goals and objectives1.
