The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation - Uganda (Baylor- Uganda) headquartered at Mulago hospital, is a comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and treatment organization that supports the treatment and care of HIV infected and affected Children and Adults. Baylor- Uganda has four operational areas; HIV/AIDS care, treatment and prevention services, maternal child health services, Health Professional training and Clinical Research. Baylor-Uganda is in receipt of PEPFAR grant through CDC and Ministry of health
Job Summary: The Health System Strengthening Advisor will initiate, develop and monitor the implementation of systems, strategies and procedures for strengthening health systems in liaison with the Ministry of Health, District Health Teams (DHT), other government sectors involved in the HIV response to ensure sustainability of PEPFAR and post-PEPFAR activities in Baylor-Uganda supported regions in line with HIV/AIDS National Strategic Plan (NSP) and Baylor- Uganda mission.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  The ideal candidate should possess a Master's degree in public health, or its equivalent with a degree in Medicine. At least five (5) years' experience in health systems strengthening, project management, and financial management, especially in the context of HIV/AIDS issues and programs, with at least two (2) years' experience in a national or resource challenged setting with preference a developing country.Past exposure and experience in program design, strategic planning, program management and implementation, especially within a developing country context. Prior experience working with Donor funded health programs is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy, required to establish and maintain a wide range of senior level and working level contacts with HIV/AIDS programs in government, non-governmental, and private-sector circles. Possess the ability to work effectively within team and interagency environments. Skills in monitoring and evaluation frame works. Willing to spend 60% of the time in the regionsHow to Apply:
