Job Summary: The Business

Manager will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the

bank’s strategy, overseeing planning and management, upholding high standards

of governance and corporate citizenship, accounting to all our stakeholders,

and ensuring that we deliver value to our shareholders, customers and staff.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:  


1.

Overall Strategy and Financial Objectives:


·        
Work in liaison with the Regional Head, the Heads of

Operations in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, the CIB Operations Executive team at

Head Office and teams across the region to formulate and execute business

strategy, tactics and financial plan related to the Operations function

supporting the Investment Banking businesses


·        
In charge of the analysis of financials, MIS,

stakeholder engagement and reporting and highlighting key matters/issues

/requirements arising to the Regional Head: CIB Operations.


·        
Work with business and finance and produce the

performance level analysis needed to conduct monthly performance reviews with

each region.


·        
Attend and represent the EXCO team at various forums


·        
Work closely with the Management Team to agree and

implement a ‘People Strategy’


·        
Actively contribute to the performance driven

culture within the area


·        
Ability to motivate individuals and work with the

Operations leaders in building team-oriented, inspirational goals that are

aligned to the objectives of the CIB business in the region


·        
Act as change agent in the positioning and

implementation of new and ongoing strategic initiatives and objectives.


·        
Enhance brand value and thought leadership.


·        
Efficient stakeholder communication and management

Enhancing Performance:


·        
Coordinating and consolidating IB Operations

submissions for the various EXCO and GOVCO reports.


·        
In charge of drafting of presentations and other

documentation as required by the Head: IB Operations.


·        
Participate and lead projects


·        
Carry out internal/external research as and when

required.


·        
Where necessary, participate in and coordinate

various Steercoms that are owned by IB Operations. This includes the

administrative functions of the agenda as well as tracking of action items.


·        
Analyze performance reports across the business to

identify trends, opportunities, concerns and report these in a consolidated

format as required.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  


·        
The applicant should preferably hold a Post

Bachelor’s graduate degree – specialisation in Finance and/or Business

Management


·        
At least five to ten years’ experience


·        
Process knowledge


·        
Banking knowledge


·        
Working knowledge of financial and budgeting

processes


·        
Broad knowledge and understanding of Management

reporting


·        
Previous experience in various reporting functions

would be advantageous


·        
Detailed working knowledge and understanding of the

financial drivers of the CIB Business


·        
Good understanding of CIB products


·        
Familiarity with broader Business Banking and Retail

Services impacting Corporate  Clients and

value chain


·        
Excellent interpersonal skills


·

broader Banks’ business strategy into clear plans of action that are aligned

with the BU’s objectives ; articulates and implements strategic objectives;

provides meaningful input into the strategy/objectives of the business unit;

ensures that all client solutions are aligned with and support business

objectives

good understanding of the mechanisms and processes behind an end-to end

business and displays strong insight into the processes and resources, and

financial management required to sustain a business;  anticipates business and customer trends and

stays up to date with these


·        
Financial Acumen: Plans and

manages the Bank’s financial resources in line with sound financial principles
