Announcement: 

IRG seeks professionals with experience in land administration, peace building, conflict resolution and mitigation, for both long- and short-term positions under the anticipated USAID-funded SAFE project in Uganda.  The SAFE project is designed to strengthen mechanisms for resolution of conflicts over land, oil and ethnic diversity primarily in Northern and Central Uganda.  We are looking for expressions of interest from qualified professionals in the following areas:

Public Information (with background in radio programming)Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) (with experience in court annexed arbitration and mediation)Land Tenure LawLand and Mineral Rights LawLand Registry, Land Records, and Land RecordingLand and Oil Mineral RightsLand-Use and Land MarketGeographic Information Systems/Global Positioning System (GIS/GPS)Gender and Land Tenure (with experience in customary and statutory law)Monitoring and Evaluation (with experience in Collaborating, Learning and Adapting activities)

Qualified Ugandan nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

Experience working on peace building, conflict resolution and mitigation, and land administration programsRelevant and recent experience in Uganda and/or region (Horn and East Africa)Experience working on donor-funded development programs (USAID experience preferred)Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred (in relevant field)Experience in conflict/post-conflict environmentsFluency in English required; knowledge of local languages highly desirable
