Reports to: Maintenance ManagerEskom Uganda Limited (EUL) is a subsidiary company of Eskom Enterprises based in South Africa. Our business is operating and maintaining Nalubaale and Kiira hydroelectric Power Stations. Our mission is to be the Centre of Excellence in Power Concession Management. We have one vacancy for the position of Projects Coordinator and hereby invite interested and suitable applicants to submit their CVs along with a cover letter in consideration of the position advertised.Job Summary: The Projects Co-ordinator will support the Technical Manager in implementing capital projects as well as developing justification for projects to the asset owner, and assist other technical departments in problem-solving regarding projects management when called upon.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Understand the plant and its electro-mechanical makeup to come up with appropriate projects to motivate for and contribute in the overall health of the plant.Assist in the preparation of the plant CAPEX (Capital expenditures) budget.Assist plant personnel in elaborating ideas and plans regarding progress actions on projects in order to improve long term efficiency of the operation.Ensure proper execution of projects through development of studies and/or implementation of small modifications or majors investments.Assist plant personnel in analysing major plant problems which may jeopardize the short term good operations of the plant.Ensure proper information exchange between project teams and plant operations team after each project.Although not directly involved in the plant operation, he/she must maintain a good understanding of the plant operation so that when called upon to assist in shutdown work or troubleshooting; effective assistance is given.He/She will be responsible for initiating and maintaining current and future equipment files as well as keeping plant drawing database up-to-date.Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The project coordinator should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any technical field preferably in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil engineering.At least five years’ experience in managing medium to complex projects in heavy process industries.Good working knowledge of Industrial plant technology (Electro-Mechanical), power generation experience, Quality management, project & cost management.Specialized and further training in projects management with certification will be an added advantageStrong Working knowledge of MS office tools especially MS Projects and ERPsOnly short listed candidates will be contacted.
