Organisation: Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS)Reports to: Manager, HR and AdministrationUganda Red Cross Society (URCS) is the leading National Humanitarian Organization in Uganda and a member of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, comprising International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and National Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies (189 worldwide).Job Summary: The Administration/Estates Officer will be responsible for provision of Administrative support, Implementation and Monitoring systems for Management and maintenance of URCS Assets and Infrastructure in line with the Department’s Mission.Key Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates travel and itinerary arrangements for URCS/Partner Offices and approved URCS visitors line with approved travel plans, URCS Policies and ProceduresMonitors the implementation of leases and the Service Providers’ Contracts and all URCS assets in line with the relevant Contract provisions.Monitors the letting and management of Assets in line with best practices and URCS Policy Guidelines.Establishes an Inventory of all Estates belonging to the National Society and design detailed records or database for the same in liaison with beneficiaries in the Branches; Finance and Accounts department.Works closely with stakeholders to fulfill the Legal obligations of the organization in terms of Asset acquisition and maintenance in line with organizational Regulations and Policies.Implements and Monitors a systematic Maintenance Plan of the NS properties in liaison with the Branch Coordinators.Develop Policy of Commercial Utilization of lettable/ Rentable Properties and liaise with the Branches in ensuring its implementation.Coordinates the development of properties or renovations of the same in liaison with the respective Branches where they are located.Implements a system of receiving and responding to stakeholder’s complaints and compliments.Implements and monitors Health and Safety Practice in line with Internationally Accepted Health and Safety Standards.Implements and maintains an up to date URCS Asset Register in line with the Assets Management Policy.Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The applicant should possess a bachelor’s degree in Law or its equivalent; Legal practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC); Demonstrable experience/competencies in real estate management or Post graduate training in Land Management/Land Economics, Engineering or Business Administration. Possession of at least three (3) years’ experience in similar position preferably from a busy organization Excellent knowledge in relevant MS Computer Packages; Asset Management; Land LawsPossess the ability to handle multiple tasks in a multicultural setting; A system-oriented person with high sense of judgmentProblem solving skills Excellent communication skills.All applicants should adhere to The Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
