Project Description:
FHI 360 is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Technical Advisor for the anticipated USAID-funded Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in South Western Uganda (RHITES-SW) project in Uganda. The expected duration of the project is five years. Recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the project and the selection of final applicant is subject to USAID approval.
RHITES SW will work to increase utilization of health services by strengthening systems; improving quality; increasing availability of, access to, and demand for quality services; and supporting the health sector to sustain the high rate of utilization in the South Western Region of Uganda. The health services that will be supported will include HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, nutrition, family planning, and maternal, neonatal and child health care.
Job Summary / Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership, TA and capacity building in health systems strengthening and quality improvement (QI), to strengthen integrated service deliveryLead a technical implementation team focused on health systems strengtheningProduce tools and training materials to strengthen the capacity of staff and local partners to implement health systems strengthening and QI activities (as outlined above)Monitor field activities and ensure timely completion of objectivesRecruit, assemble and lead technical teams to carry out assessments and capacity building exercises for local partnersProduce and present papers at local, regional and international fora to share experiences and emerging best practicesDevelop/produce contractual deliverables (quarterly, annual, field project evaluations, etc.) in conjunction with other key staff and external evaluatorsQualifications:
PhD, MD or similar degree with 10+ years of experience implementing and providing technical assistance to health systems strengthening and QI programsor MS/MA/MPH in public health or related field with 12+ years of experience implementing and providing technical assistance to health systems strengthening and QI programsor an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in private sector engagement also preferredOverseas/international experience required, preferably in UgandaComprehensive understanding of the South Western Region Uganda preferredDemonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with MOH personnel, NGO partners, and U.S. and foreign government organizationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage a high volume work flowRelevant computer software skills (including, at a minimum, the standard applications in MS Office)FHI 360's Career Center at http://www.fhi360.org/careers or through the Employment section at www.fhi360.org.
