Standard Chartered Bank Uganda has 29 ATMs and over 600 staff.Job Summary: The incumbent is a key management resource in Business Clients and assists in managing the Business Clients Team by leading a highly motivated team and optimising the resources and financial performance of the team thus contributing to growing the balance sheet in both assets and liabilities and optimising the trading profit. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Steer a team of Relationship managers and Portfolio Managers to ensure delivery of Product Sales and Revenue Targets Analyse and review quality of potential and existing business across the team to ensure resources are deployed for maximum profitability. Oversee credit quality standards through effective management of risk according to the Departmental Operating Instructions (DOI) and other SCB policies. Ensure that up-to-date records of all actual and attempted customer interactions are maintained. Make joint calls for high-value or high-exposure customers Ensure Relationship Managers/ Portfolio Managers work seamlessly with ARMS[ where available] and Credit Analysts to ensure that credit applications for new and existing facilities are correctly prepared in accordance with DOI. After consideration of individual case merits, recommend credits for approval by relevant authorities and champions credits submitted to CRM or Group Credit. Offer leadership in areas of expertise, particularly in the structuring of credits and the provision of products and services to customers. Co-ordinate country or regional initiatives within Business Clients. Offer timely feedback to Head Business Clients, marketing and product management on customer’s needs and the efficiency of marketing strategies and tactics. Responsible for delivering a service to customers that matches the Bank’s brand promise of being ‘Here For Good’. Actively promote cross-sell and increase product holdings of the existing customers. Achieve a balanced growth between assets and liability and NII and NFI. In charge of planning, directing and management of channels to acquire new business and deepen existing customer relationship for the products or customer segmented handled. Strategically shift the business from product centric to customer centric model. Formulate sales strategies for all products related to the Business Clients segment. Steer a team of highly motivated individuals and ensure that you assist them to meet their objectives. Responsible for managing Business Clients team sales and revenue targets as set in the annual country budget. For effective management of products and channels to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction Monthly sales and revenue performance needed to meet annual country budget Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate for the Standard Bank opportunity should hold a Good first degree or requisite technical skills gained through professional associations and practical experience. Strong general banking experience and expertise. Five or more years of experience especially in relationship management roles Prior experience in SME/ Business banking environment is an asset.
