World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Motivated by Christian faith, World Vision serves all people, regardless of their religion, ethnicity or gender. We currently work in over 41 Districts in Uganda. World Vision is committed to the protection of children and we will not employ people whose background is not suitable for working with children. All employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of all applicable background checks, including criminal record checks where possible. We are now seeking for qualified key personnel for an anticipated USAID funded Orphans and Vulnerable Children and Youth (OVC) project to be implemented in North and Eastern Uganda. (Please note that all positions below are contingent upon Project Award from USAID) Position: Economic Strengthening Technical Director-OVC Reports to: Deputy Chief of Party Duty station: Kampala

Purpose of the position: Responsible for all activities associated with improving the economic stability of households caring for OVCs. Major Responsibilities: • Responsible for promoting and ensuring that the program makes optimal use of Economic development models and frameworks to support vulnerable communities improve their household incomes, and contribute to well being of children and transformation of families and communities. • Responsible for facilitating Learning through Evaluation Accountability and Planning in the operational areas and integration of cross cutting issues; Gender, participation, child protection environment and sustainability. • Consolidate programme work plans and technical reports into quarterly and annual reports Play a strong role in fundraising, initiating public private partnership, advocacy Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience • Master's Degree or higher in social sciences or social work, or a closely related field • Must have at least three years of experience designing, implementing and managing household economic strengthening initiatives in/for developing countries. • Experience in leveraging private public partnerships • Strong interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills in English. • Two years of experience living or working in a developing country is desired
