Uganda: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Director






For more than 50 years, Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC) has made learning more accessible, relevant, and exciting. Our International Development Division collaborates with local partners in more than 35 countries across five continents.
We work at the preschool, primary, and secondary levels, and with youth, adults, and out-of-school learners. Whether helping youth build job skills in Haiti, teaching HIV/AIDS orphans in Zambia, or helping Yemeni teachers use technology to improve their skills, EDC is committed to building human capacity and ensuring our partners can sustain their own programs.
EDC is preparing for a proposed orphan and vulnerable children project in Uganda, to enable more children, youth and their caregivers’ access and utilize core services for improving health, nutrition, education, and psychosocial well-being and reducing abuse, exploitation and neglect in Uganda’s Northern and Eastern Regions. Therefore seeking managerial level personnel including:
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Director:
The proposed MEL Director will have responsibility for all monitoring, evaluation and research activities associated with the project.
Master's Degree or higher in monitoring and evaluation, public health, demography, health management, social science, biostatistics, statistics, or a related field is required.S/he must have at least three years of experience supervising monitoring, evaluation and research efforts, preferably with respect to child welfare and protection systems strengthening, capacity building, economic strengthening, and service delivery.The candidate must have strong quantitative or mixed-method and analytical skills and ability to articulate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.S/he must have strong skills using MS Excel Word, PowerPoint and Access, and at least one data management software program (SAS, SPSS) and experience training others in its use is highly desirable.S/he must have demonstrated leadership qualities, depth and breadth of technical and management expertise and experience, and strong interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills.Two years of experience living or working in a developing country is also desirable.How to apply:Interested and qualified candidates may send resumes to IDDJobs@edc.org.
