Human Resource Assistant ( FULL TIME )

Marie Slopes Uganda (MSU) is a marketing-focused, results-oriented social business that uses modern management and marketing techniques to provide family planning and reproductive healthcare across every district of Uganda. We aim to contribute 15 points to Uganda’s contraceptive prevalence rate by 2015, saving and improving many thousands of Ugandan lives. MSU has 25% of the market share in modern contraceptives and, in 2010/2011, safely delivered 50,000 babies and contributed 4 points to Uganda’s contraceptive prevalence rate. MSU has enjoyed 20% year on year growth since 2007. MSU is part of a global net work, Marie Slopes International (MSI), and subscribes to MSI goal and mission, to prevent unwanted births and to ensure individual’s rights to Children by Choice not Chance.

3. Job Title: Human Resource Assistant
Overall Role:
Working with the Senior Manager, People and Development, this role is responsible for administering the day to day operations of the human resource functions and duties. The Human Resource Assistant will carry out responsibilities in some or more of the functional areas; HMIS, departmental development and executive administration.
Key responsibilities:
• Ensure that Human Resource files and records are efficiently maintained and in accordance to legal requirements and company policies and procedures.
• Over see the human resource database and ensure proper functioning o f the system at all times.
• Effectively report the human resource information of the organisation
• Ensure that written staff memos/communications are timely and widely spread cross the organisation as required.
• Assist in arranging for meetings, workshops, trainings and interviews when requested.
• Assist in arranging for staff team building activities, retreats and staff functions.

Requirement:

Education and Experience:
• Degree or diploma in Human resource management
• 1 year experience in a busy human resource management office
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Understanding of basic office procedures
• Use of computer applications (Word , power point and Excel)
• Ability and willingness to provide low level support such as filling papers, photocopying …etc
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• High sense of confidentiality

• Pro-choice and interested in reproductive health
• Committed to personal development
• Pragmatic and flexible approach
• Decisive and excellent judgement.
Supervisory Controls:
All incumbents will work under the supervision of the Senior Manager, People and Development or his/her designee and will be located at the Support Office in Kampala.
Physical Ability: The ability to travel within the districts of Uganda Contractual Period: TWO (2) Years
