Creative Designer/Screen Printing Coordinator

Program Outline:

Remnant Uganda aims to help women fight and overcome poverty, through the development of a screen printing and sewing program. The goal of the program is to provide women with the skills necessary to be self-sustainable after completion of the program. Remnant Uganda does this by providing the women a sustainable income and giving opportunities to develop necessary skills through programs in leadership, finance and savings training, vocational training, and business mentorships. Each beneficiary will graduate when the Country Directors and Project Managers feel the women have received the needed training and skills, and, in turn, they feel they are capable to further pursue a vocation of their own.

Description:

The Creative Designer/ Screen Printing Coordinator is a position requiring the employee to live and work in Gulu, Uganda. We ask that applicants make a six-month commitment. Currently, the position is unpaid; however, housing can be provided.

Responsibilities include; but are not limited to:

a. Management of inventory:

- Assisting the In-Country Director of Business Operations, with the management of materials and product inventory.

- Purchasing all necessary screen printing supplies for Remnant Uganda

- Keeping up to date on new screen-printing procedures, equipment, etc.

b. Design: The Creative Designer/ Screen Printing Coordinator will be responsible for creating new designs for Remnant Uganda and preparing artwork for local clientele print jobs.

c. Production: The Creative Designer/ Screen Printing Coordinator will be tracking all production of Remnant Uganda. These tasks include:

- Preparing all equipment and materials for printing orders

- Assigning production goals to beneficiaries

- Monitoring production to ensure all local and international orders are being completed on time or by the designated deadline

- Documenting beneficiaries completed products

d. Quality Control: The Creative Designer/ Screen printing coordinator will be in charge of quality management done by the organization. These tasks include a mix of other responsibilities required of the Business Development Manager:

- Checking the quality of products being completed by beneficiaries

- Advising beneficiaries on areas of needed improvement

- Documenting all finished products; including unfixable and completed pieces

- Preparing products for delivery, both locally and internationally

e. Miscellaneous: A mix of other responsibilities required of the Creative Designer/ Screen Printing Coordinator, based on assisting the Country Director.

The ideal candidate will have experience living, working, or volunteering abroad. They will have an extensive knowledge and background in management, screen-printing and design. They should be passionate about our vision and mission. - Experience in Design and Screen-printing

- International travel experience

- Enjoys working with a TEAM
