Project Manager – Urban Risk Reduction ( FULL TIME )

5. Title: Project Manager – Urban Risk Reduction (1 Position)
Grade: UR 6.1
Reports to: Senior Program Manager Disaster Risk Reduction
Location: Gulu
Duration: Two Years
Job Summary:

The Project Manager – Urban Risk Reduction will be part of the URCS team and be primarily responsible for branch level implementation of the piloting Urban Risk Reduction project in Lira and Gulu municipalities supported by American Red Cross.
Specific Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Leads field level implementation of Urban Disaster Risk Reduction according to project design.
• Supports the development of project work plans with clear work breakdown structures.
• Mentors branches and community groups including first responder teams on project requirements and accomplishments.
• Accountable for the effective utilization and timely accounting of project resources and generate and submit timely project reports in agreed formats !;
• Responsible for the generation and compiling of all project reports for piloting Urban Risk Reduction Project.
• Responsible for the initiation and drawing of branch level project work plan in, line with the agreed budgets and activities with American Red Cross.

Requirement:

Minimum qualifications and working experience:
The person must have a Bachelor’s Degree/higher education in Development Studies, Project Planning and Management or relevant field. M&E skills required Three years experience in active community mobilisation or project management preferably in a humanitarian organisation. Experience of working on community managed risk reduction projects is an added advantage. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical skills, MUST be computer literate guiding risk assessments, ability to work under pressure with limited supervision strong team player with the ability to manage disputes, result oriented and a great command in English.
