Living Goods is seeking a Director of Health and Social Impact to help drive the organizations’ scale and impact of its innovative community health model in Uganda.

Living Goods is a pioneering, dynamic and high impact social enterprise focused on serving the health needs of the underserved. We are entering a period of exciting expansion, and seeking a Director – Health and Social Impact to be part of the management team to help guide the growth of our community health model. This position will drive strategy on improving health outcomes, develop and implement quality management practices to ensure agent compliance with standards, and work with government, both at the national and district level, to align community engagement, as we work to improve the lives of millions of people across Uganda.

Our ideal candidate will bring a blended background of private and public sector experience, with a proven track record of results, and demonstrated success. As a member of the management Team, you will contribute to Living Goods’ dynamic, results-oriented, and client centric organizational culture through inspirational leadership and shining as a positive role model and collaborative team member.

The role is based in Kampala Uganda and reports directly to the Uganda Country Director.

Responsibilities

Drive strategy for deepening the health impact of the Living Goods model, staying on top of best practices, new research and innovations to integrate into our model.Identify best-in-class products and treatments to incorporate into Living Goods field work, work with supply chain, field and training team to bring products to market.Continually review results and field data to drive ongoing program innovation.Training; Oversee development of all key training, job aids, and other diagnostic tools, ensuring they comply with Ministry of Health, and relevant global health standards and best practice.Manage training team to deliver the highest quality trainings: effective iCCM base trainings, and ongoing refresher trainings.Oversee agent Testing and Certification to ensure that each Community Health Promoter has the requisite knowledge and skills to be certified as a CHP.Government Relations; Successfully manage relationships with Ministry of Health and support Technical Working Groups to learn from implementing partners and to align our work with the GOU.Work with District Health Offices to align our community work with their goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in public health and/or health operations. Experience managing large-scale community health worker networks or franchise clinic networks a big plus.Program management experience in private sector or NGO, including experience overseeing large field operations and teams.Strong preference for successful experience and understanding of business.Proven track record of exceptional success, exceeding targets, strategic breakthroughs and transformative innovation.Demonstrated leadership skills. Experience managing teams and ensuring both vision and direction are provided, as well as attention to detail in execution.Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with local and international teams, facilitate feedback and optimize implementationStrong analytical, inter-personal and communication skills.Comfortable working in a high-paced, dynamic, start-up environment.Graduate degree (Masters in Public Health or MD).

PSI seeks qualified, dynamic candidates for the position of Chief of Party for Uganda. The COP will be responsible for ensuring successful implementation of the anticipated Social Marketing Project aimed at improving the utilization of health related social marketing products and services in Uganda. The candidate will provide leadership and strategic guidance to large scale social marketing program and will have technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills and experience. Experience in effectively interacting with the host country agencies, including the private sector, central and local government, development partners, civil society is essential. This full-time position is based in Kampala, Uganda and reports to the Executive Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Master’s Degree or higher in Public Health, MBA (preferably specialization in marketing), or other related degree within the Social SciencesA minimum of ten years of progressively increasing responsibility in managing large international development assistance HIV/AIDS and health programs in sub-Saharan Africa;Demonstrated management and supervisory capability in leading projects of similar scope in private sector and social marketing field;Proven leadership skills in working collaboratively with other donors, host country institutions, and international organizationsWorking knowledge of and experience with USG funded activity management, policies and proceduresExcellent organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills (in English)Excellent past performance references
