Job Description:
The duties of the National Coordinator cover technical and managerial aspects as follows:
a) Overall management and supervision of the implementation of the project to ensure
maximum effi ciency, output and quality
b) Providing technical guidance in the development and implementation of literacy and livelihoods
skills training programmes
c) Being the focal person for the coordination of the Network activities
d) Preparing designated periodic work plans and submitting them to UGAADEN Board for
consideration and approval by the General Assembly
e) Initiating, organising and supervising the implementation of approved work plans of
activities according to the given guidelines
f) Organising and executing UGAADEN promotions, publicity and publications
g) Ensuring proper fi nancial and other resource management in all aspects
h) Ensuring the timely preparation and presentation of narrative and fi nancial reports as provided for
in the documents and implementation guidelines
Professional Qualifications
a) A University degree in Adult and Community education, Education, Social Work and Social
Administration and Development Studies
b) A Masters in the above mentioned or Postgraduate qualifi cation in Project
Management would be an added advantage Relevant technical experience
a) At least two years in the fi eld of adult education/ education/development work
b) Specifi c experience in adult literacy and non formal learning
c) Demonstrated profi ciency in project planning, implementation and monitoring
d) A good understanding of the project management cycle
e) Should be able to work with minimum supervision
f) Experience at managerial level and familiar with management principles and procedures/routines
Computer skills
- Strong computer skills e.g. Microsoft Project
- Webpage management
Personality & presentation
a) Self-driven, results-oriented, comfortable in dealing with donors;
b) Reliable, and determined;
c) Empathic communicator;
d) Be a team-player;
