MANAGER CORPORATE SERVICES

Job Title: Manager, Corporate Services

The Manager, Corporate Services provides corporate business and legal advice to the Executive Director on all processes of contracting involving the Fund and engages on behalf of the Fund on all legal cases, negotiations and mediations and ensures protection of interest of the Fund. S/he will ensure the conformance of all policies, procedures, systems and practices in the Fund to National operating laws and relevant international standards and will act as a Legal Secretary to the Fund. S/he will also be responsible for the development, implementation and periodic review of comprehensive Human Resource policies and plans for the Fund, including staff recruitment, remuneration, appraisal, training, discipline and welfare.

The Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the Information Management policies and procedures of the Fund. S/he will also ensure the definition and procurement of hardware and software, together with appropriate support arrangements and system administration. S/he will also be responsible for the development and implementation of processes and procedures for the management of the physical assets of the Fund.

The Manager will develop, coordinate and manage the communications and outreach programmes of the Fund, taking responsibility for all public and media relations.
Qualifications and Competencies
Applicants will possess a Bachelors degree in social sciences, economics, law or other relevant discipline. A Master’s degree in business, economics, management or law will be an added advantage. Applicants shall have membership of the ICSA or equivalent. They shall have attained a minimum of 10 years of practical working experience in progressively more senior positions in corporate services, in a busy organization and shall be able to demonstrate:
a) Good knowledge of Corporate Governance issues and the intricacies of the legal environment locally in Uganda and internationally.
b) Thorough understanding of public sector administration.
c) Working knowledge and experience of finance, procurement and company laws.
d) Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
e) Significant experience in a senior capacity of human resource management and development.
f) Experience in business planning.
g) Experience as a manager of all administrative aspects of an enterprise of similar nature to the Fund.
h) Experience in the management of consultants and suppliers, including advanced project management techniques.
Salary and Benefits

This position will be offered under a contract of three years, renewable. An attractive negotiable package is available to the right candidate.
