I am currently seeking a social expert for a project in Uganda.

A Post-Graduate in Social Sciences or Sociology or Social works or Anthropology with at least 8 years of experience in handling / conducting stakeholders' consultations, public meetings on social issues in the developing countries context, WTP (willingness to pay) surveys, advising on rehabilitation and resettlement issues, land acquisition plans, social mitigation measures, educating the masses on social benefits of solid waste management. Experience in handling the social aspects of SWM projects in South Asia, especially in collection, treatment and disposal functions is preferred.

Expected work start date: Nov 2012.

Expected project duration: 10 to 12 months.

Short description: The Government of Uganda is seeking to engage the private sector in the integrated management of solid waste within the city and the possible use of landfill gas in the production of energy through a PPP (“Project”). The project will help the local authorities to (i) prepare and structure this PPP transaction, and (ii) implement public tenders to select a private operator/investor.
