Sub Area Manager/Education Specialist for Youth Earning by Learning (YEL) (01 position)Duty Station : Western Region KaseseReporting to the West Area Manager, the Education Specialist will take the lead in developing and managing Save the Children’s Education for Youth Earning by learning (YEL) technical portfolio of vocation education programs in the western region and will be responsible for achievement of program goals and objectives and for reporting on program implementation and outcomes. The person will be responsible for overall management of the project, coordination of all the project activities in accordance with vocational education requirements in Uganda and will also provide line management and supervision of all the section field staff. In addition, the Education Specialist will be responsible for working with the Education Leadership Team in developing the overall YEL strategy/model, increasing staff capacity to deliver high quality program, and advocacy at a national and regional level to be the voice for vulnerable youths in Uganda. This will include overseeing effective implementation of planned objectives for the YEL project, the provision of technical guidance to on-going activities assistance to and leadership of fundraising efforts and proposal development activities, and representation of the vocational education sub theme to external stakeholders. Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications:• A minimum of a Degree in Humanities or a relevant discipline. Senior Officer - Youth Earning by Learning (YEL) (03 positions)Duty Station : Western Region, (Ntoroko, Kasese & Bundibugyo)Reporting to the Education Specialist, the job holder will provide ongoing capacity support and coordination of the project partners with project planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting on youth education and entrepreneurship with linkages to marketable vocational and agriculture skills.Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications:• A minimum of a Degree in Humanities or a relevant discipline.Additional or post graduate qualification in Education is an added advantage accrued working experience in a youth empowerment related field.• At least 3 years progressive experience in programme development and management with International NGOs. Senior Officer - Basic Education (01 position)Duty Station : Western Region, KaseseThe job holder will be responsible for providing ongoing capacity support and coordination of the project partners with project planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting. Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications:• A minimum of a Degree in Humanities or a relevant discipline. Additional or post graduate qualification in Education is an added advantage• At least 3 years progressive experience in programme development and management with INGOs. Relevant experience supervising community based social development projects and with International NGOs particularly those addressing children’s rights and those applying partnership approach is desirable.• Thorough understanding of child rights issues, national poverty alleviation strategies as well as current national and international trends in to global poverty and development.• Specific familiarity with child rights issues in the NGO world or work.• Strong financial, planning and budget management skills and experience.• Effective interpersonal skills – oral and written communication skills• Strong documentation, reporting, facilitation and presentation skills4. Accounts Specialist - Youth Earning by Learning (YEL) (01 position)Duty Station : Western Region BundibugyoThe job holder will be responsible for maintaining and undertaking of the timely daily processing of all SC financial transactions, reconciliations of accounts, checking Work Made Easy (WME) transactions before updating the Agresso ledgers, tracking outstanding and other financial contractual commitments. Theposition is also responsible for taking initiatives to ensure that funds are used in the best possible way and that there is general compliance and adherence with approved internal control measures and finance policies by the staff in the course of undertaking their duties, ensure all the disbursements by SCiUG to partners are in conformity to the Partnership policy and that these are dully accounted for in time. Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications;• A minimum of a Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Business Administration from a recognised university or a relevant discipline. Additional or post graduate qualification in ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICSA etc is an added advantage.• At least 4 years relevant working experience, preferably with International NGOs, with thorough understanding of GAAP and major donor standard requirements.• Good financial management skills with knowledge of computer Accounting Packages and good understanding of major donors financial requirements, conditions and Government budgets and tax policies.• Self motivated with demonstrated ability to generate financial reports and meet set deadlines and with good integrity.• Team player with good interpersonal/communication, documentation, and facilitation skills and the ability to work under minimum supervision. The job holder will Support the district office on all administrative aspects relating to office and program implementation including procurement, transport / fleet management and warehousing /Finance in line with SC policies, procedures and guidelines.Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications:• A minimum of a diploma in Logistics and supply chain management or a relevant discipline. Project Officer Basic Education and Literacy Boost - (01 position)Duty Station : Northern Region, AmuruThe Job holder will take responsibility to support the planning process, monitoring and implementation of the CHANCE Education Projects to promote safe, supportive schools and communities that increase vulnerable and marginalized children’s participation in education, their retention and transition into formal education.Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications:• A minimum of a Degree in Humanities or a relevant discipline.
