Please visit www.concern.net for more information on Concern Worldwide.Concern Worldwide Uganda is recruiting for various positions for the USAIDfunded PL 480 Title II Development Food Aid programme called “Resiliency through Wealth, Agriculture and Nutrition RWANU”) in Karamoja to be implemented from August 2012 through July, 2017.RWANU will focus on two strategic objectives to reduce food insecurity among vulnerable rural populations in selected sub –counties in 4 districts of Karamoja: (1) Improved availability and access to food and (2) reduced malnutrition in pregnant and lactating mothers and children under five. All positions will be based in Karamoja1. Health Facilities Support Managerwill be responsible for managing all health facility support components of RWANU. Specifically S/he will liaise and work with District Health Teams and health facility personnel to ensure quality provision of a range of services to pregnant and lactating women and children under five. S/he will provide technical support and capacity building to clinical personnel at health centres.Requirements:Registered General Nurse/Midwife or Clinician to degree level. Experience in health service delivery/management preferred. A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience working in and managing health related projects in a challenging environment; previous experience with NGO/INGO preferred.Experience of working in partnership with district local government is essential. In addition to strong technical capacity, s/he will have excellent personnel management skills, leadership qualities, mediation and facilitation skills.2. Social and Behaviour Change Communication Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating all Social and Behaviour Change Communication components of RWANU.S/ he will participate in formative research for developing the social behavior change strategy and will advise in the design and development of related materials and approaches. S/he will lead on training and supporting project staff and partners tasked with delivering SBCC activities.Requirements:include Master’s degree in Public health, health promotion or related field, specialism in social and behaviour change communication preferred.A minimum of 5 years relevant experience including 2 of which will be in Karamoja. Demonstrable skills in participatory planning and team approaches. Experience in developing materials for a variety of target audiences. Strong skills in community development and Care Group model is an advantage.3. NutritionistWill provide training (nutrition) and technical support, including M&E, to the project and undertake specific tasks allocated to this role including food basket monitoring. S/he will work on two key areas of nutrition namely the first 1,000 days of life approach and IMAM.S/he will contribute to the development of nutrition components of SBCC and care-group model. S/ he will support VHT (Village Health Teams) activities including surveillance. S/he will work in partnership with local stakeholders including UNICEF, WFP, Health facilities and district local government. Requirements include diploma/degree in Nutrition with 3-5 years experience.Previous experience of nutrition programming including IMAM in Karamoja preferred. Experience with food basket monitoring and Care Group approach desired. Experience ofworking in partnership with district local government and local health services including VHTs is essential.4. Administration and Support Services ManagerWill lead and manage logistics, transport, security, procurement, IT, and administration functions of RWANU.Specifically, s/he will provide advice in the strengthening of logistics and procurement systems, ensure that IT systems remain effective and oversee the maintenance of the field office and residential accommodation spaces. S/he will provide basic HR, health & safety and security briefing to all Karamoja visitors.Requirements:Include degree in Business Administration or related field and 5 years relevant working experience in an NGO. S/he will have strong leadership qualities, excellent organizational, planning and communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.5. Field AccountantWill provide financial support to the RWANU project. S/he will be responsible for project petty cash, keeping records of all field financial transactions, submitting monthly accounts to the Kampala office and cash flow management.The Field Accountant will also ensure that donor financial regulations are followed at field level and that Concern’s financial policies are adhered to.Requirements:Include a University degree in Accounting/Finance or Business studies and CPA Part II, proficiency in Microsoft office (particularly excel), 3 years minimum work experience in finance. Experience in international NGO & understanding of USAID regulations and previous field level experience are desirable.S/he will be a team player with good communication, organization and planning skills with proven attention to detail. All positions require candidates to have excellent spoken and written English with knowledge of Ngakarimojong preferred.
