Job Title: WASH Specialist (Community Water Management)
Grade: NOC
Duty Station: Kampala
Type and Duration of Appointment: Fixed-Term Appointment (One year with possible extension)
Purpose of the post:
Under the guidance of the WASH Specialist (P4), the incumbent will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned programme/project(s) within the water, sanitation and hygiene programme.
The incumbent will prepare programme documents and participate in preparation of sectoral work plan as required;
Participate in intersectoral collaboration with other programmes and coordinate with national and international agencies covering the management of programmes; Provide technical support and capacity building to government authorities;
Coordinate the supply and non-supply activities ensuring timely accountability.
Required Qualifications, Competencies and Attributes:
Advanced University Degree in Civil Engineering, Public Health/ Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Civil Engineering, or related technical field;
Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in programme management, monitoring and evaluation, in a related field.
Experience in participatory rural appraisal and community participation.
Experience working in the private sector in WASH is an advantage.
Fluency in English is required and strong written and verbal communications skill therein strongly desirable.
